EA Announces New Need for Speed, Crysis 3 Release Date
EA held its annual investor conference today, in which it announced that it plans to invest up to $80 million in development for games on the next generation console systems in the fiscal year of 2013.
The publisher's investment is a clear indication that both Sony and Microsoft plan to step up their game with the unveiling of new platforms next year, which are likely to hit shelves before the end of next Christmas.
EA also provided investors with a firm release date on Crysis 3, which it says it plans to release in the first quarter of 2013. The publisher has also dated the release of a new Need for Speed title in the fourth quarter this year. As the latter game has yet to be officially announced, we expect EA to make a big showing with it at E3 next month.
We'll provide further details about the investor call in related news updates.

Santa Monica Studio Looking for Testers for New FPS

We all knew Santa Monica was working on an FPS of some sort. Whether the news was leaked on job ads or those infamous LinkedIn profiles, it was clear something was under wraps.
Many people were betting on the fact that God of War was going to go the FPS route. I guess we can squash that possibility.Whatever the case may be, if you are in the Santa Monica area, you can sign up to become a tester for this new game and finally see what all the fuss is about. Apparently they are looking for casual to hardcore gamers with FPS experience. As noted on this Craigslist Ad, you need to submit a slew of information based on your gaming prowess. For example, have you ever completed a single-player campaign on any shooter game? Or, do you play shooters online or offline?
Months ago, when this rumor was running rampant on the internet, the studio was looking to hire. Now theyre looking for people to test their game.
Something tells me this shooter game isnt that far off. We know its playable but we dont know what it is yet. Stay tuned for more information
