GOWIIs Barlog working with Avalanche on Mad Max game

Its being reported Avalanche Studios is involved in the Mad Max game God of War IIs Cory Barlogs been working on since 2008.

While Avalanche would not confirm anything specific, the studio told Eurogamer Barlog is indeed “working here with us in Stockholm as you have probably read on his Twitter recently.”

“That is out of my hands Im afraid and in the hands of our publishers,” Avalanchess Christofer Sundberg replied when asked when we can here more about the goings on at the studio.

“Sometime early next year most likely for two of them and later next year for the last one.”

Sounds like Avalanche is working on three games, then.

According to various tweets by Barlog, the game is coming out of preproduction, and the game will be released near the films debut. The film, Mad Max 4: Fury Road is slated for 2012 and stars Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.

The game itself was confirmed to Newsweek by director George Miller back in 2008, who called it a “hybrid game” and also stated he delayed starting on the film in order to “do a really good game”.

So, expect the game sometime in 2012, we reckon. Theres no word on platforms yet either.

Metal Gear Creator Explains "A Hideo Kojima Game"

If you have played any of Hideo Kojima's games, you have probably noticed the "A Hideo Kojima Game" title card. Other game designers have started using this type of crediting. The MGS creator, however, contests that he actually means it.

According to Kojima, he began using the title by his own accord. While Kojima points out that recently it is being used by others, the reason why he uses it is because he plans the project, designs the game, pens the script, directs the game and oversees the project.

"It is a statement that I am responsible for everything," Kojima adds. "I do not add this to games that I only produce." Of course, he has not added "A Hideo Kojima" game to Metal Gear Solid: Rising or the new Castlevania title he is production. Those are not Hideo Kojima games.

Tetsuya Nomura Discusses Kingdom Hearts III

Nomura-san commented on the current challenges he faces developing KH III:
“For any sequel of the mainstream storyline of the Kingdom Hearts series, that would be Kingdom Hearts III”
    He added:
“But the problem is that the opportunity of developing the sequel is not currently [possible]. The team is busy, I am busy.”
Even with his busy schedule, KH III is still something he wants to do and is preparing for. Nomura-san had this to say about his thoughts on the next chapter in the storyline:
Im thinking about whats going to be next after Kingdom Hearts II, the future that is Kingdom Hearts III. Time has nearly come to [work on] that concept.
With the games concept phase being in sight, it leads to the question: When can we expect it? When asked if we would see it on the current generation of consoles, he gave this revelation:
Yes it might be possible. It is my desire to develop the next Kingdom Hearts on the existing platform, but the problem with a new console is that it has new technical requirements… So, yes, Im willing to create something on the existing console because when we aim for another non-existing future console, the release of the title will be far in the future. Thats my concern.

According to PlayStation LifeStyle, Tetsuya Nomura has recently engaged in an interview where he mentions Kingdom Hearts III, the next console game of the Kingdom Hearts series. Extracts from the interview, featured in EGMi, are shown below.

For any sequel of the mainstream storyline of the Kingdom Hearts series, that would be Kingdom Hearts III. But the problem is that the opportunity of developing the sequel is not currently [possible]. The team is busy, I am busy. Im thinking about whats going to be next after Kingdom Hearts II, the future that is Kingdom Hearts III. Time has nearly come to [work on] that concept.

Yes it might be possible. Thats my concern.

Lastly, Nomura stated that he often has to “sacrifice my private time, my marriage, my family time” to stay on top of all his current projects. Regarding the future of Kingdom Hearts, all of this means that Kingdom Hearts III will soon be in the concept stage.

NBA Elite 11 delayed, NBA Jam coming as standalone product for 360 and PS3

Well, it seems like the details regarding the release of the NBA Jam reboot on the 360 and PS3 have changed yet again. EA Sports just announced that its upcoming basketball title, NBA Elite 11, has been delayed beyond its release next month to an undisclosed launch window. You know, NBA Elite 11 -- that game that would come with a download voucher for NBA Jam, serving as "the ONLY way" players could grab Jam on Microsoft or Sony's home consoles? Seems that line's changed too.

The delay announcement also revealed that "we're going to ship NBA Jam as a standalone product on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in time for the holidays. Watch for more news soon on the exact timing of that release." We're going to hound EA to find out more about these plans -- will it be a retail release (the use of the word "ship" certainly seems to indicate as much). If so, will it carry a $60 price tag? Will NBA Elite 11 still come with a free copy of Jam, or has that offer been summarily revoked? Is this a test? Are you testing us?
