Confirmed: Michael Jordan is NBA 2K11 cover athlete

As first outed by ESPN last week, basketball hall of famer Michael Jordan is coming out of retirement again, this time to feature on the cover of 2K Sports' NBA 2K11. Jason Argent, the label's VP of marketing, confirmed the deal to CNBC today, saying that, "Actually getting this done is the most ridiculous win of all-time."

The original ESPN report noted that Jordan -- and even some of his former teammates -- would likely be playable in the game, but Argent had nothing to offer CNBC on that front, other than to say players can expect "some really good surprises." However, in the same article, Jordan is quoted in a statement as saying, "I'm looking forward to getting back out on the court, virtually."

We're guessing he doesn't mean we'll be seeing his likeness painted on the hardwood.

Απο το NBA2k9 υπαρχει ο Jordan στην εκδοση για pc με απιστευτα mods και με ολα τα signature moves του.Κοινως κατι τρεχει στα γυφτικα εκει στην 2k.Ας κοιταξουν να διορθωσουν δυο-τρια πραγματακια και ας αφησουν τα φρου-φρου για να αυξησουν απλα καποιες πωλησεις στις κονσολες λογω Jordan.Και τι εγινε που σου βαζει τον Jordan?Μετα απο 5-6 παιχνιδια θα εχεις βαρεθει και θα επιστρεψεις παλι σε franchise mode με σημερινα rosters.

NBA 2K11 GETS JORDAN MODE

We bring to you the very first details on Jordan Mode, a brand new mode in NBA 2k11. Check after the break for the first details on the new mode.

The signing of Michael Jordan for the cover of NBA 2k11 was huge, and most gamers thought and hoped that he would have a playable likeness in the upcoming title. Today those hopes have been answered with a confirmation, with NBA 2k11 getting a "Jordan Mode".

What exactly is "Jordan Mode"? Keep on reading below to get the first details revealed on the new mode.

The Jordan Challenge will focus on 10 games from the Chicago Bulls legend's playing days. Each game will include a series of statistical goals players must complete as his Airness.

"(Players) will get a chance to feel how hard it was to actually achieve what he did," says Jason Argent, vice president of marketing for game publisher 2K Sports.

Gamers will not only control Jordan, but some of the classic Bulls teams of the '80s and '90s. The games have been recreated to authentically mirror the appearance of arenas and players from that era.

Among the Jordan highlights featured:

-- 1990 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers. Jordan scored a career high 69 points in an 117-113 overtime win.

-- 1992 NBA Finals. In Game 1 against the Portland Trail Blazers, Jordan scored 35 points in the first half, draining a record six 3-pointers.

-- 1997 NBA Finals. Battling a stomach virus, Jordan scored 38 points in a pivotal Game 5 victory against the Utah Jazz.

Παντως στα γραφικα δεν βλεπω διαφορα απο το προηγουμενο..

Ας διορθώσουν τα bugs και τα κολλήματα του παιχνιδιού και ας αφήσουν τα γραφικά ίδια, ήδη ήταν πολύ καλά από πέρυσι, οπότε με λίγο polishing και τα νέα modes που ετοιμάζουν θα μιλάμε για έναν φανταστικό αθλητικό τίτλο.
