Πολύ μεγάλοι στόχοι από την Sony... Ακόμα και αν πέσει τόσο σε ευρώπη όσο και Αμερική στα 400ευρώ και 400$ αντίστοιχα και μαζί με όλα αυτά τα games που έρχονται το νούμερο που λένε οτι θα στοχεύσει η sony είναι εξωπραγματικό και φαντάζει ακατόρθωτο με τα μέχρι τώρα δεδομένα... Βέβαια όχι ότι το όνομα Playstation δε μας έχει "τρομάξει" με τα ρεκόρ που έχει κάνει αλλά αυτή τη στιγμή φαίνεται ακατόρθωτο ή τουλάχιστον πολύ δύσκολο! Για να δούμε τι έχει να πει η Sony για όλα αυτά τις επόμενες μέρες...

PlayStation 3: One Year Too Early

A gaming website has created an editorial which uses the PS3 as a shining beacon as to what happens when you launch consumer electronics to the market far too early. They say that the launch all came down to ego and was a mistake in terms of its timing, the PS2 could've happily remained in the market for another year and really challenged the Wii a bit more and eventually make it look like a last-gen 'cheap machine' when the PS3 launched.

Έτσι όπως τα έχει κάνει η Sony ( που δεν βρίσκω κάτι λάθος , περισσότερες επιλογές για τον αγοραστη ) μόλλον η έκδοση με τα 60gb είναι η καλύτερη επιλογή!

Πάντως δεν καταλαβαίνω γιατί να υπάρχουν μοντέλα στην αγορά με μόνη διαφορά τη χωρητικότητα του σκληρού, αφού μπορείς να τον αλλάξεις με έναν μεγαλύτερο-μικρότερο όποτε θέλεις. Ας μειώσουνε απλά την τιμή του 60Gb και τέρμα, τι ανοησίες είναι αυτές...

Βέβαια άλλο πράγμα αν αλλάξουν κάποια στάνταρ της ίδιας της κονσόλας (πχ 65nm τσιπ), ή αφαίρεση-πρόσθεση άλλων χαρακτηριστικών. Για μένα η κυκλοφορία του 80gb ήταν σκέτη κοροιδία...

PS3 games win the battle of 1080p - 24 games compared to 360's 2


According to one website, the PS3 wins in the battle of 1080p as it has the most games that can run natively in the resolution - standing at 24. Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 has 1/12 less of native 1080p games than the PS3 and its only 2 are Virtual Tennis and Street Home Court.

EGM Rumors: Epic games and Kojima making new PS3 exclusives


The latest issue of EGM is running a couple of rumors and two of them are promising for PS3 owners. The first is that Epic Games and Sony have resolved their issues with the Unreal Tournament 3 license and they might be working together on an exclusive PS3 title. Moreover, Hideo Kojima is hard at work completing MGS 4 but he's also working on another PS3 exclusive title un-related to the Metal Gear franchise.

Shadow of the Colossus 'sequel' quasi-confirmed



After asking the Official PlayStation Magazine (UK) for news regarding Team ICO, which developed ICO and Shadow of the Colossus for PS2, Team ICO Gamers Blog was presented with the following reply:

"We asked Sony boss Kaz Hirai what was going on with Team ICO a couple of months back," alleges OPM. "As he was pleading ignorance, one of the other execs present blurted out, 'I'm pretty sure they're doing the sequel.'"

Afterwards, the room immediately fell silent says OPM.

5 Reasons Why Playstation 3 Will Come In 3rd This Holiday


1. Bad Press
The constant flow of bad press is still flowing and I don’t see it stopping any time soon. It’s gonna take a mega hit like Metal Gear Solid 4 to make everyone forget about all the negative rants that have plagued the internet.
2. Lack of Killer Apps
Now even though I’m writing this, I beg to differ. I still think graphically, titles like Heavenly Sword and even Lair are killer apps. These games however, didn’t move the units or set the world on fire like Halo 3 did. Most of the heavily anticipated PS3 games don’t come out until next year…after the holidays.
3. The 360 & The Wii
People who didn’t get a Wii last year will be looking to buy one this year. That’s a guarantee. I’m one of them. Also, the good news surrounding Halo 3 will still have a resonating effect this Christmas. I can bet that the majority of all 360’s sold this Christmas will have a very high Halo 3 attach rate. The PS3 has a couple of great titles coming out this year with Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, Ratchet and Clank Future and bless it’s soul, Eye Of Judgement. I just don’t think it’s enough to compete.
4. Sony’s Marketing
Sony’s marketing needs some work. They really aren’t pushing their products like they should be. Heavenly Sword, Lair and Warhawk, their 3 big fall titles hardly got any marketing. Yeah, maybe a banner here and there on a website or two, but no great tv ads at all. They shoved Blu-Ray down our throats and for some reason refuse to shove the ads too! Remember that Gears Of War movie theater ad that was out last year? Nuff said.
5. The PS2
While PS2 sales have slowed down, they haven’t ceased. I think Sony’s biggest competition is themselves. If they dropped the PS2 to $99 like I’ve heard, then they will move several of those units this Christmas. I’m willing to bet that they’ll move more PS2’s off the shelves than PS3’s. It’s not a bad thing because the PS2 library is stronger than any game system available right now. Also, the $19.99 bargain bin is a beautiful one. God Of War can be had for that price or lower. It makes for a great Christmas bundle.
So there you have it. Sony has a lot of work to do and I don’t think this Christmas will be the year they shine. Once the must have titles come out next year and they gain some footing, we might see a comeback for the PS3. Just about everything everyone wanted to see this year has been pushed back to 2008, this includes Unreal Tournament 3. I think those guys over at Wii60 had it right. This is waiting.
