The Last of Us 2 Is 'Hands Down the Most Ambitious Game Naughty Dog Has Ever Made' - 'You Are Not Ready For TLOU 2' Says Troy Baker.

It’s been over a year since we last got an update on the highly anticipated The Last of Us: Part II, but speaking at Manchester Comic-Con this weekend, star Troy Baker managed to whet our appetite with some tidbits about what we can expect from the title when the title deploys. The actor, who plays Joel in the series, was coy about sharing too many details – but he suggested that even he’s been surprised by how the project’s coming together.


“I can tell you this: it’s hands down the most ambitious game that Naughty Dog has ever done for sure,” he exclaimed, as part of a larger interview which will be published on Push Square later this week. “It’s far larger than I thought was going to be possible.”


Of course, we all want to know when we’ll actually be able to play it, and so we asked Baker if he had any more insight on actress Ashley Johnson’s recent slip-up. For those of you out of the loop, the Ellie star seemed to suggest that the sequel will be out in February, but her co-star seemed confused by the apparent error.


“It’ll be out 31st February, that’s what [Johnson] said – people just took it out of context,” he joked. “Wow, I’m sure she got a call from Sony saying, ‘Shut up!’ She’s like, ‘Guys, it’s a f*cking joke!’”


He continued that he doesn’t actually know the date: “I think they’ve probably been smart not to tell us because we can’t slip up and say something stupid. Last time we announced, we slipped. And they don’t want to do that again. We are still cranking on it, I can tell you that much. Where it’s at in development, I have no idea. Everybody feels like it’s broken until it’s shipping, and then when it’s shipping they’re like, ‘We shipped a broken game!’ And that’s the gig of making a game.”


Uncharted star Nolan North, who was also in attendance during the interview, interjected that “they’re not going to release it until they’re ready to release it”. So we’re no wiser as to when the title will launch, but if Baker’s comments on the scale of the game are accurate, then we can appreciate why the award-winning developer’s taking its time. Either way, we simply have to learn more soon – it’s been far too long since our last public update on the project.

I’ve worked at a big chain electronic retail store for about a year now. Most video trailer/ promotional reels are updated by playstation, by my understanding. It shows advertisements for games coming up.

For the last year they NEVER showed last of us Part II on the promotional reels - until now, for upcoming Sony exclusives.


We should also be getting official promotional TLOU2 posters in, if my timing is correct, to display to the public. I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

We began working on this game over five years ago. It’s hard to describe the immense pressure of following up the first game. We know how much you love this world and its characters — especially Ellie and Joel. Believe me, we’re fans as well. We love them. Which is why we spent years crafting a game that we feel will do them justice, telling a nuanced story that deals with the core question: how far would you go to exact justice against the people that hurt the ones you love? It’s a highly emotional story with complex themes that befit the world of The Last of Us. What we realized pretty early on is that we were putting together Naughty Dog’s most ambitious and longest game in our 35 year history. To tell this kind of story the game needed to be massive. Without spoiling too much, at the top of this post you can watch the brand-new trailer that we debuted earlier today on State of Play, which just scratches the surface of what the game has in store.

Δεν έχω λόγια για αυτο που είδα....Απίστευτα γραφικά, εκπληκτικό τέλος.

Λενε ότι θα ειναι το μεγαλυτερο παιχνιδι σε διαρκεια που εχουν φτιαξει μεχρι στιγμης.Για αυτο τον λογο τοτε θα ερθει και με 2 δισκακια(red dead redemption 2 φαση δηλαδή η εγκατασταση.)

Ρε παιδιά ΟΚ μια φωτογραφία είναι αλλά η φιγούρα της Ellie δε σας φαίνεται τραγική ;
Μακάρι να κάνω λάθος γιατί σαφώς και θέλω να πάρω τη συλλεκτική.

Το έχω δει αρκετές φορές το trailer. 2 παρατηρήσεις έχω να κάνω

1) Το στορυ φαίνεται να πηγαίνει σε άλλο επίπεδο. Ανυπομονώ.
2) Ο τεχνικός τομέας έχει inconsistencies στην ποιότητα. Ειδικά η σκηνή που δείχνει στην αρχή έναν καταυλισμό/χωριό και δείχνει να φεύγει με το άλογο δεν μου έκανε καμία εντύπωση - δεν μου αρεσε καθόλου. Οπως και κάποια textures ειδικά στα ρούχα είναι χειρότερα από God of War στα δικά μου μάτια. Σε κάποιες σκηνές πάλι έμεινα με το στόμα ανοιχτό. Φυσικά δεν θα σταθείς πολύ στα γραφικά όταν όλο το ζουμί ειναι το gameplay+story.
Οταν θα αγοράσω όλο το παιχνίδι θα το κρίνω κιολας πιο σοβαρά.
