A , , PS5 cable 32Gbps 40 XBX.
We analysed the HDMI 2.1 output from the Sony PS5 (Playstation 5) console,
and found that the maximum bandwidth it can deliver either at 4K@60Hz or 4K@120Hz is currently 32Gbps, which is lower than the 40Gbps HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on the Xbox Series X.
Calculations: 4K@60Hz at 12-bit RGB = 32Gbps (8Gbps at 4 Lanes)
4K@120Hz at 12-bit 4:2:2 = 32Gbps (8Gbps at 4 Lanes)
Japanese teardown of Sony PS5, revealing HDMI 2.1 chipset from Panasonic Semiconductor Solutions/ Nuvoton Technology (MN864739)
We are not sure if this Panasonic chipset is capable of 40Gbps or 48Gbps.
