Name Of Next Tomb Raider Leaks Because Guy Had It Open On Subway

Zoom in a bit and you can just make out the name Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which is also a name weve heard floated for the next game in Lara Crofts iconic series. A source told me today that this is indeed the name.
“But wait,” you might be thinking. “Isnt Tomb Raider developed by Crystal Dynamics, a studio in San Francisco?” You would be right—except we hear Eidos Montreal, the large studio behind Thief and Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, is helming Lara Crofts next adventure.

Sources: Ubisoft's Watch Dogs 2 Teaser Is A Real Sci-Fi Game -- But It's In Trouble

The “leaked Ubisoft trailer” inside Watch Dogs 2 is for a real sci-fi game called (or code-named) Pioneer, sources say. But Pioneer is running into troubled development and may not be announced as soon as Ubisoft had originally planned—if it comes out at all.

Heya Final Fantasy fans, the year of 2017 will be Final Fantasy's 30th Anniversary. A few months ago, Square Enix opened a 30th Anniversary Portal Site, and it seems they have quite the plan for the series' 30th anniversary.
The following information is a rumor, but Square-Enix apparently plans to release the first episode of the Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age as its celebration, along with an FFXIII trilogy for the PS4 and a 30th Anniversary Collection that includes FFI-IX in a single cart/disc on the Vita/PS4.
FFI-IV will actually have 2 versions - the original NES release and the mobile releases, and FFII and FFIII will actually have an official translation for the NES versions. All FF titles will be uncut.
There will be 3 versions of the 30th Anniversary Collection:
    Standard - games and poster
Collector's - games, poster, art book, 8-bit Black Mage keychain, Chocobo plush and 2-disc soundtrack collection with songs chosen by Nobuo Uematsu
Crystal Complete - limited quantities through the SE store, and will include the Anniversary Collection, FFX/X-2 HD, FFXII: Zodiac Age, FFXIII Trilogy, FFXIV: ARR with all expansions and a 3-month sub, and FFXV with all DLCs. Special items from FFXI Mobile and XIV to be included. That's just the games. Items included will be 2 extra soundtrack CDs, a crystal necklace, a Moogle plush, a Black Mage statue, all 3 of the FF Trading Card starter decks, and the films including Advent Children, Kingsglaive and the Brotherhood anime (heck, why not include Spirit Within, as terrible as it was received, some fans did like it), all in a luxurious packaging with the FF logo.
At the moment, this plan is only for the NA region and the rumor suggests there aren't any plans revealed about release outside of NA. There also seems to be a Season Pass that include releases for PC: FFI, FFII, FFXII: Zodiac Age, FFT: War of the Lions, and Chrono Trigger for release in 2017, and FFVII Remake and FFXV for release in 2018.
Again, just a rumor at the moment, but there may be some truth.

Sources: WB Montreal Cancels Unannounced Suicide Squad Game, Shifts To Batman

Warner Bros. Montreal has cancelled their long-rumored Suicide Squad video game, sources tell Kotaku. The studio will now focus mainly on their other big project, a Batman game starring Damian Wayne.

Executives at Warner Bros. decided to axe the Suicide Squad game earlier this month following a long period of turbulence at WB Montreal, according to three people familiar with the studio. The game, which would star DC Comics eponymous band of anti-heroes, had been in development for at least two years. Hints of its existence had been floating around for just as long. Ive heard it was a co-op game—and that it failed to impress Warner Bros. management during greenlight meetings—but not much else.

    Guerrila Cambridge to close

UK developer to close after 19 years as Sony “makes changes to European studios structure”
Sony is closing the Cambridge branch of Guerrilla Games, GamesIndustry.biz has learned. All employees will be laid off.

Sony has confirmed the impending shutdown to us, saying that the compulsory redundancies are "regrettable". The decision to close the studio comes from a review of all current PlayStation projects and resources, with the platform holder concluding that "in order to deliver on our strategic objectives, it is necessary to make some changes to the European studios structure".

Guerrilla Games Amsterdam, developer of Horizon: Zero Dawn and the Killzone series, will not be affected.

Developer admits "we screwed it" after game website exposes review blacklist threat

The developer of a sci-fi horror shooter recently released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One has been caught out threatening game websites in a bid to avoid negative reviews.
BadFly Interactive, which is based in the Czech Republic, released Dead Effect 2 on Xbox One last week and on PS4 today. It launched on Steam in May 2016.

In promoting the game, BadFly CEO, co-founder and creative director Lubomír Dykast sent emails to game websites offering review code, as you'd expect of a developer trying to create exposure for their game. But what you wouldn't expect for those emails to include a threat.
"BadFly creative director Lubomír Dykast sent a code via email with a note. It's not uncommon for small developers to mention their small teams and remind critics that they are not AAA houses. However, Dykast took things a step further."

Let me just mention one thing, though: this is an indie game which, unfortunately, is very often compared with big-budget games, and that's quite a problem and very much damages its reputation in final ratings.
Please take into consideration the fact that this game was created by a small team of developers (11) who just try to develop a good shooter game, and that's about it.
Unfortunately, a number of journalists have other, much bigger expectations from it, and that's very damaging for us eventually.

"So far so good, right? What's the problem, you may be asking? It's the last line in the email that's the problem."

Also, we're working on several other games that are definitely interesting, and if your review or preview of Dead Effect 2 is very negative, you won't receive any keys from us in the future.

The threat, which comes in at the end of the note, is clear: give Dead Effect 2 a negative review and BadFly will blacklist you.
