Projects labeled after company's shooters and game engine turn up in internal documentation; other names include "SteamMMO" and "Steam Box".
Valve fan site Valvetime claims to have unearthed documentation that show Valve Software employees may be internally discussing projects like Half-Life 3, Left 4 Dead 3 and Source Engine 2.
Valve may be working on a new Half-Life and Left 4 Dead sequel.

The alleged screenshots of Valve's internal project-tracking software from an anonymous source showed a 42-employee mailing group for a project called "Half-Life 3". The screenshots also displayed a 68-person mailing group for a project titled "Left 4 Dead 3".
The project called "Source 2" had numerous groups devoted onto it like "Artists", "Builds" and "Proto-games". Other notable project titles include "Steam Box", "SteamMMO", "Return to Ravenholm", and "Piston Test" (a reference to Xi3's Piston console).
Readers should keep in mind that this leak is not an official confirmation from Valve Software. Readers can check out the full list of projects on the Pastebin link.

    Source: http://www.bubblews.com/news/660463-...4-announcement

    Quote:
Fallout 4 has (apparently) been absent from E3 this year. However, behind closed doors, Bethesda gave details and a 37 second trailer for the upcoming Fallout 4. Pete Hines of Bethesda is keeping tight lipped about the 45 minute presentation, but it seems there was a leaker inside who was willing to give this information.

Aside from all the rumours, this is the only confirmed news. It just looks like we have another 2 years before we'll be able to play the game.

    Bulletpoints:
    Quote:
    > Fallout 4 has been in development since January 2011 by a small team, as the majority were working on Skyrim.

    > As of February 2013, the team working on Fallout 4 is the size of the team which was working on Skyrim. This is due to Skyrim development ending.

    > As it stands now, Fallout 4 will release on Xbox One, PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. However, this is still subject to change.

    > The actual announcement for Fallout 4 will come BEFORE E3 2014, but will NOT launch in 2014.

    > The expected launch is in October 2015.

    > The game is (as of June 2013) 55% complete, consequently, voice actors will be hired towards the end of 2014.

    > There is no planned multi-player, but there is a possibility of Co-Op locally.

    > The game will take place in Somerville, Cambridge, Arlington (and surrounding areas). The main setting is in a Post-Apocalyptic Boston. However, this area will not be immediately accessible.

    > The story is not clear, however, Vaults exist.

    > The 37 second trailor starts starts with a half-broken phone sparking. The scene pulls out slowly with the stereotypical music you would hear. Slowly you work out the scene is pulling out of a belltower. As it pulls further out, you see a destroyed town around. This is Boston. Suddenly, you hear the bell chime loudly, and the screen changes black instantly. The words of Ron Pearlman are heard "War... War never changes...". The logo for Fallout 4 appears with the 5 platforms above listed.

Square Enix appoints new heads of NA and EU studios

Square Enix today announced changes in the management makeup of its North American and European studios. These announcements come after a fiscal year spent in the red, and layoffs in both North America and Europe as part of a "corporate restructuring."

All North American and European studios underneath the Square Enix umbrella will now be overseen by Darrell Gallagher, the company's new Head of Studios. Prior to receiving his assuredly jeweled crown and gold-plated throne, Gallagher was Studio Head of Crystal Dynamics – a position which he will continue to fill for the time being, in conjunction with his new duties.

Eidos Montreal will now be helmed by David Anfossi, former Deus Ex: Human Revolutionexecutive producer. Meanwhile, Square Enix Montreal will be "built into a centre of excellence for game development on smart devices (primarily tablets)" under the guidance of Patrick Naud, according to the announcement.

PR Representatives Tried to Make Sure Hideo Kojima Wasnt Quoted Preferring the PS4 Out of Context

Hideo Kojimas upcoming open world game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain opened Microsofts press conference at E3, and Kojima himself was very generous in praising the consoles graphical capabilities and Kinect on Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hrybs channel, but he has also gone on record with the Japanese press about the PS4′s “cheap” price point.
During a sit down with a group of western journalists, two Konami PR representatives and a translator, Kojima (very possibly joking) went a bit further, as revealed in the writeup of the interview by Gamereactor.
I think Ill buy both. But at the same time theyll probably send them to me, But from the price point probably PS4.
The comment caused an explosion of hilarity in the room and could have been seen as an indirect endorsement of the PS4 over the rival, especially if the joking tone (dont they say that good jokes normally have a foundation in reality?) wasnt reported, so the PR representatives probably felt that they had to do something about it.
At the end of the session they reportedly “chased down” the interviewer to make sure that the quote mentioned above was not reported out of context and without specifying that it was a joke. The damage control attempt didnt really work that well anyway, as the comment about the PS4 being cheap was still all over the Japanese press (Ive seen it at least on three different prominent media outlets), and didnt look like a Joke at all. If it is really a jest, quite evidently Kojima really likes that punch line a lot.
While Ill chalk this as a rumor, considering that the episode has been reported only by a single journalist (even if a credible one), its definitely a funny story, and begs the question on whether the deal between Konami and Microsoft is limited only to opening the latters conference, or if theres something else afoot.
What do you think? Are we going to see some kind of Xbox One timed exclusivity or exclusive content? Or the PR representatives were just being considerate?
    Sad....

Hideo Kojima is Looking for a Studio to Remake Metal Gear Solid with Fox Engine

It appears another remake of Metal Gear Solid is not out of the question.
During an interview at E3, Gamereactor reports that Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima is seeking a studio to modernize the first Metal Gear Solid once again, this time with Kojima Productions' Fox Engine.

Kojima explained that he was actually in the process of searching out a studio he could task with adapting the first game to the Fox Engine. He noted that some of the mechanics would need updating, but apparently he's keen on a second remake following Silicon Knights' Gamecube adapation Twin Snakes.
Metal Gear Solid originally came out on the first PlayStation in 1998 and remade for the Gamecube asMetal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes by Silicon Knights in 2004.
If another remake does materialize, who would you like to see handle the third version of MGS? What new features would you like to see this time around?
