Ανακοινώθηκε το Battlefield 3

Σπουδαία τα νέα για τους φίλους των First-Person Shooters.
Η Electronic Arts ανακοίνωσε πως η Limited Edition του πολυαναμενόμενου Medal of Honor θα περιέχει μέσα της, κάποια extra όπλα, camouflage packs και...μια πρόσκληση για την beta έκδοση του Battlefield 3! Η beta θα είναι διαθέσιμη περίπου 12 μήνες έπειτα από την κυκλοφορία του Medal of Honor (15/10), οπότε θα πρέπει να υπολογίζετε πως θα μπορείτε να την δοκιμάσετε κάποια στιγμή κοντά στα τέλη του 2011. Ουσιαστικά, η συγκεκριμένη κίνηση της EA αποτελεί την πρώτη επίσημη ανακοίνωση του Battlefield 3, το οποίο -όπως και η σειρά Bad Company- θα κάνει κι αυτό με τη σειρά του εμφάνιση στις next-gen κονσόλες, όπου και έχει ήδη διακριθεί. Όπως επίσης έγινε γνωστό, η engine που θα χρησιμοποιηθεί αυτή τη φορά θα είναι η Frostbite 2, την οποία θα δούμε και στο νέο Medal of Honor

Το υπόλοιπο πακέτο της Limited Edition θα εμπεριέχει το όπλο MP-7 αλλά και 2 ειδικές καραμπίνες, ενώ στην έκδοση για το PS3 θα υπάρχει το Medal of Honor: Frontline με βελτιωμένη HD ανάλυση.

Η beta του Battlefield 3 θα κυκλοφορήσει μέσα στον Οκτώβριο του 2011 για PC, Playstation 3 και Xbox 360. Όπως είναι λογικό, η τελική έκδοσή του ίσως καθυστερήσει λίγους ακόμη μήνες.

Aiming for CY Q4 2011 release

Concept for BF3 has been in the works for years, waiting on proper tech to seamlessly come together

Frosbite 2.0 is the culmination of this tech, entirely re-written

Lighting sounds neat, one "probe" contains more lighting information than an entire BFBC2
level.

Level destruction is going to be "believable" but basically everything is destructible.

Character animations powered by ANT, what EA Sports uses.

AI characters and multiplayer characters have different animation sets

No more "gliding" animations that look off, animation realism is a focus

Captured their own war audios (bullets, tanks, helicopters, etc) at different distances to ensure realism

Better audio cues for certain actions, more easily able to listen for threats

Plan on better, more immediate post release content

More unlocks than BFBC2

Dice trying to find a good balance between customization of your character and not having "pink rabbit hat(s)"

4 classes

Will talk about squads "later"

Looking into a theater mode but can't talk about it

Will have co-op

There will be a kill-cam but it can be turned off

BF3′s team is almost twice as big as the team for BFBC2

They want the pacing of the single player mode to be balanced, with highs and lows. Makes the comparison to a song vs a guitar solo.

Part of the single player mode takes place in Sulaymaniyah - Iraqi Kurdistan.

"F**k" will be used often, so M rated for sure

There will be an earthquake in a level. The destruction sounds very impressive. 7 story building collapses, looks very well done

Significant narrative that goes with the SP mode

More than one setting, you're not in the middle east for the whole game

PC version is lead version

Why 64 players for PC only? No complains from the console crowd.

No mod tools at release. Maybe none down the line either. Frosbite 2.0 is complex and mods tools would have to be dumbed down, so does Dice really want to put their time to that or would it be better spent elsewhere?

Original story, not based on Bad Company at all.

Ρε σι Οδυσσέα υπάρχει ή θα υπάρξει παιχνίδι που θα μπορέσει να εκθρονίσει το GT5 απο το tray του playstation3 σου; Δεν νομίζω!!!!!

Ξέρω... ... έχω γίνει γραφικός με το GT5.

Πάντως το bc2 δεν έχει ίχνος lag και το multiplayer είναι απολαυστικό,
τους λόγους τους έχω περιγράψει στο ανάλογο thread.

Τώρα θα με πείτε γερο-παράξενο αλλά πολύ fast-paced για τα γούστα μου το βλέπω.

Το ότι θα το "τσιμπήσω" βέβαια άσχετο...

Υπάρχει περίπτωση να πιλοτάρουμε και αεροπλάνα στο battlefield 3?
(όπως π.χ. έχει το bc2 ελικόπτερα)
ή ακόμα καλύτερα να έχει αεροπλάνα και στο multiplayer?

Τελικά δεν ζητάω πολλά αφού όπως διαπίστωσα αεροπλάνα υπάρχουν ήδη σε παλαιότερα battlefield!

Για την ακρίβεια κατέβασα το battlefield 1943 για να το δοκιμάσω και διαπίστωσα πως έχει αεροπλανοφόρα και πάνω αεροπλάνα έτοιμα προς χρήση.

Bέβαια είναι λιγάκι δύσκολα στον χειρισμό και δεν προκαλούν ιδιαίτερη ζημιά
αφού κινείσαι συνεχώς και δυσκολεύουν τα πράγματα ως προς τη στόχευση
σε σχέση μ'ένα ελικόπτερο απάτσι που ισωπεδώνει ολόκληρο χωριό.
