While Final Fantasy XIII has been confirmed for a release 'sometime' in 2009 in the land of the rising sun, Square Enix has shuffled it's feet for a long time concerning the highly anticipated title's release abroad. However, in a recent stock holder's meeting, Square Enix president Yoichi Wada confirmed that the title would not hit foreign soil until April 2010 at the earliest. While it isn't specifically stated, the timing of the release would indicate that Square Enix is intending on releasing the title in 2010 to bolster sales numbers of both the 2009 and 2010 fiscal years.
Wada confirmed that the title would still be exclusive to Sony's console in Japan, while the North American and Europe release would be simultaneous on the 360 and the PS3.
Final Fantasy XIII is the latest entry into the long running franchise. The highly anticipated title is due out in 2010 for the PS3 and XBox 360.
