A new study shows that a lot of consumers just don't care too much about Apple's iPad tablet after the public announcement for it. In fact, the numbers seemed to double when it came to consumers losing interest in Apple¢s new device.
According to a recent poll by Retrevo, they gauged interest before and after the announcement. The good part is that consumers who didn¢t know it was coming and didn¢t want one dropped from 35% to 18%, after finding out about the announcement. However, consumers who knew it was coming but had no interest in buying one took a jolly leap and doubled from 26% all the way up to 52%. Ouch.
Unlike the iPhone it looks like the iPad is going to be seeing a whole lot of shelf life, whether it features cool games or not. This is mainly because 61% of consumers, according to the survey, just felt they didn¢t need one. And seriously, who would? It¢s like a big retarded version of an iPhone…can you imagine if you were trying to steal the latest mp3 or movie from a torrent in a public place? Or worse yet, trying to get in your daily dose of porn? Yeah…it¢s going to be very conspicuous on a big ¡ole iPad. The only upside is that the screen is larger for interactive apps and that would be perfect for gamers.
