Final Fantasy Agito XIII heading to PSP

Was this the "major announcement" Square Enix referred to? NeoGAF tells us that earlier today in the private press event DKΣ3713, it was unveiled that Final Fantasy Agito XIII will be heading to the PSP in addition to cell phones. The title is part of Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII which also includes Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII. No release date has been announced.

Final Fantasy XIII Agito:

-Το παιχνιδι μεταφέρθηκε στο PSP επειδη δεν μπορουσαν να περιμένουν τα κινητά να εξελιχθούν περισσότερο
-Οι μαχες θα ειναι κυριως σε στυλ action αλλα θα υπαρχουν ακομα turn based στοιχεια. To παιχνιδι θα εχει ενα εξελιγμένο σύστημα ΑΤΒ απο το Crisis Core .
-ΣτοCrisis Core χειριζομασταν μονο εναν χαρακτηρα (Zack), στο Agito θα υπαρχουν και αλλοι χαρακτηρες στην ομαδα.
-Το παιχνιδι υποστηρίζει Infrastructure Multiplayer μεχρι 3 παιχτες.
-Τα Summons θα ειναι μερος του συστηματος αναπτυξης καθε χαρακτηρα. Οι παιχτες μετα το summon θα μπορουν να ελέγχουν τα summoned monsters.
-Tο παιχνιδι θα υποστηρίζει Ad-Hoc και Infrastructure.

Final Fantasy Agito XIII Coming to PSP 2009



Thanks to Nero we have a scan from the latest issue of EGM with Shane Bettenhausen detailing the specifics of what happened at DKS3137 in August. Most of the article we already knew but a few interesting facts came up like Lightning's ability to jump and roll while exploring the field.

At the event Nomura also apparently confirmed that Final Fantasy Agito XIII and The 3rd Birthday are now PSP exclusives meaning their mobile development has been cancelled. He also says that they are both going to be released in 2009. We assume this is the Japanese release date. This does contradict with previous reports that Agito would be the last out of the currently announced Fabula Nova Crystallis titles to be released but as in the past, plans for this title seem to change dramatically.

Tomorrow the Tokyo Game Show begins (for me anyway) and we'll be making sure to keep you all up to date with any announcements as we get them. Maybe we'll see further confirmation of Agito's release date. To read the full scan, click the image below.

TGS08: Final Fantasy Agito XIII Trailer Leaked

Serves you right Square-Enix for putting it on a PSP. As if it isn't obvious enough from the title, the Final Fantasy Agito XIII trailer has been leaked by a very useful TGS attendee with a camera. It may be hard to hear but you can see it all. The trailer is the same as shown at DKS3137 and includes gameplay. Enjoy!

FINAL FANTASY agito XIII trailer details

Sorry, I forgot about this.

Was a blend of the old in game footage with a new FMV with narration telling of the war in the world. It's all monotone and shows countries being bombed on the map.

Had a very 'nazi' feel to it. The names of the countries bombing the Japanese-like named countries are very European like. It shows the 'school' being attacked and a crystal is destroyed.

Skips to in-game footage we've seen before at JF and TGS07 of the Card-kun throwing his cards and summoning monsters (odin?).

Moves to FMV again and shows the students of the school posing on a stone surrounded by enemies, card-kun flicks through his cards, he selects a card and throws it out (looks awesome btw) and then the moment his card gets this magical effect, all the students draw arms. Trailer ends. "This is their duty" was said, if I recall correctly (don't hold me to that, wasn't paying attention)

New Final Fantasy Agito XIII poster shows new style

The trailer that was recently leaked recently was an old one from last year (No surprise there), and since Final Fantasy Agito XIII's announcement and development on the PSP the style has changed somewhat.

A new poster from TGS shows a group of school kids, who appear to be the same characters from the previous art (That you can see here) but in a rather different, darker setting. Final Fantasy Agito XIII has been looking better and better since it's announcement for PSP, so we hope we have more good things to come.

Αs reported two months ago, Final Fantasy Agito XIII will feature directly controllable summons. When they are called upon, Ifrit and Co. will replace the character who has summoned them as a party member. Speaking of parties, Agito XIII will support up to three active members. While Square Enix wasn't sure whether the planned infrastructure mode would make it into the final product in August, this week's update suggests that this will indeed be the case.Final Fantasy Agito XIII for PlayStation Portable will be available in Japan sometime next year.
