    Aναμενομενο, αυτο που εκαναν στην Ε3 ειναι υπερβαση για τα δικα τους δεδομενα. Του χρονου παλι.
    Σχετικα με τις εικονες που εβαλε ο Λεωνιδας, το ενδυματολογικο κομματι ειναι το χειροτερο που εχω δει σε παιχνιδι ever και με μεγαλη διαφορα μαλιστα. Real life τρεντουλιες που ειναι παντελως παρωχημενες στον δυτικο κοσμο αλλα ο Νομουρα νομιζει οτι ειναι cool (κι αυτος ετσι ντυνεται btw).

    Εμενα περα απο τα λεοπαρ μου κανουν πολυ Final Fantasy τα ρουχα - λαμβανοντας παντα υπ'οψιν και το που διαδραματιζεται η ιστορια.

    In last week’s issue of Famitsu magazine, Final Fantasy Agito producer Hajime Tabata talked about the upcoming mobile game and how the project started. Famitsu follows up with the rest of the interview, where the producer also shared a few words on the other big project he’s a part of—Final Fantasy XV, which he is co-directing.

    The upcoming smartphone game aside, Famitsu asks Tabata if he has any plans for any home console releases, such as an expansion to Final Fantasy Type-0 or a sequel to The 3rd Birthday.

    “Firstly, there’s Final Fantasy XV.” answers Tabata. “I’ve recently joined as the co-director, and I’m currently giving it my all, along with the Final Fantasy Type-0 team, and development is going smoothly. We’re currently plunging into an important phase, where the engine developers and game developers are preparing to work together”

    After having worked on various titles such as Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts coded, and Final Fantasy Type-0, this will be Tabata’s first jump into working on a non-portable title, and it will also be a large-scaled project on a next-generation console.

    “I never felt the extreme desire of ‘I want to make it!’ on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.” shares Tabata. “However, after seeing the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One take their level of expression to a whole other level, I’ve become motivated. After seeing it on the big screen, the more I think about seriously challenging that world with quality product, the more it feels possible.”

    He continues, “It is something similar to what you get from a culture shock after traveling overseas. As an artist, I believe that there’s an amusing feeling that comes from being able to captivate something that wasn’t possible up until now.”

    This may help explain why Square Enix’s output on portable devices has been noticeably reduced in recent times. While the team that developed Final Fantasy Type-0 is helping the original Kingdom Hearts team develop Final Fantasy XV, the team that developed Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII and Kingdom Hearts 3D is now in charge of Kingdom Hearts III.

    Θα δανειστώ από το NeoGaf ένα όμορφο gif που δείχνει το νέο gameplay απο το τρειλερ του TGS.

    Πολύ εντυπωσιακό και next gen θα έλεγα, αν είναι έτσι το τελικό game το 2025 που θα κυκλοφορήσει...

    Συνεντευξη του Νομουρα:


    • Final Fantasy XV is the first numbered Final Fantasy to be an action RPG. Since when Final Fantasy became 3D, Square Enix made heavy use of prerendered cutscenes, but the hardware has changed, so what was previously prerendered now can be displayed in real time. So even in a quite cinematic scene you’ll be able to control the character.
    • An example of that is the scene of the E3 trailer where Noctis is fighting and flying in the city and leviathan is rampaging causing a massive wave. Before that would have been prerendered, but this time it’s in real time and playable.
    • The concept is to make battles as seamless as possible while switching between actions. Each character is very unique and they work together taking advantage of their unique abilities. Even those interactions are rendered in real time instead of prerendered.
    • The scene in which Prompto covers Noctis is also in real time. Since the game is now action based, the focus of the battle is to give a sense of speed and to make the enemy act as much as possible. Enemies and allies move around, the battle situation changes rapidly, and there’s a sense of realism. Nomura-san thinks that’s where Final Fantasy XV differs from previous Final Fantasy games.
    • FFXV is similar to previous games of the series in the visualization of numerical values on the screen, like HP, or in the fact that when an ally or an enemy receives an attack, damage is displayed as numbers. Even if now the point is the flow of battle, the team has kept those elements or people would feel that it’s not Final Fantasy. Both action and numbers are present, and there are probably no other action games where these two coexist.
    • The story inherited the foundation of the world of Final Fantasy XIII and Type Zero, and is rooted in the mythology of Fabula Nova Crystallis. That said, the world itself is different and original. It has a more modern feel. The story is simple: about heroes that go to recover the crystal stolen by the enemy, but it mixes with the relationships between characters to create a plot appropriate to Final Fantasy.
    • Since the theme of the game is “a fantasy based in reality”, the concept of the world is similar to the real world, but it’s a big point of FFXV that a fantasy develops in that world. Realizing the power of that concept before the coming of the PS4 was difficult.
    • From a developer’s point of view, what’s most important in the hardware is memory. The more memory you have, the more the impossible becomes possible.
    • The more your data can be resident in the memory, the more you reduce the frequency of reading from the disk in the game and making large worlds becomes possible. Rendering many things in real time really depends on the large size of the memory. In addition to that, since there are so many characters in motion during battles, and so many different weapons that can be permanently loaded, the affinity between FFXV and PS4 is quite good.
    • After the E3 presentation in which the Behemoth appeared on the scene, Nomura-san had a talk with his staff. He felt that the expression of characters were great, but not so much these of monsters, so he wants to focus on improving the facial expressions of the monsters as well in the future.
    • Nomura-san wants to think about some use for mobile devices since the PS4 can work with them, considering that in this day and age it’s difficult to sit still in front of a screen for a long time. He wants to give players a way to interact with the world of Final Fantasy XV even when going outside.
    • He knows that the time passed since the announcement of Versus XIII is considerable, and that the expectations of everyone are high. The staff will work hard to live up to those expectations.

    Voice actor Jay Preston will be voicing a character in Final Fantasy XV, so declares his official website and LinkedIn profile. It appears that voice casting is underway at Square Enix to pick out who will star in the English version of the game. Every trailer we’ve seen up until this point has come with Japanese voice acting — perhaps the next time we see the game, English dubbing will accompany it!

    Final Fantasy XV has been in development for a long time. The game, originally announced as a PlayStation 3 exclusive title, made its reappearance at E3, 2013 as a Xbox One and PlayStation 4 title with a name change. Now a new listing on Linkedin profile suggests that some of Final Fantasy XV development might have been outsourced overseas.

    Kaei Sou is currently working as a project manager at Square Enix. He lists his job description as “Technology and Outsourcing focused management for Final Fantasy XV and other 1st Production titles.”



    While the development of a game being outsourced isn’t really a bad thing, it is worrying to know that despite several years in development, Square Enix is still stuck at a stage where they can’t even finish the game internally on time. The game was originally revealed to the public at E3, 2006 with a CGI trailer. Actual development didn’t start until a few years later.

    Final Fantasy XV has, as of yet, received no official release date or release window. It is being directed by Tetsuya Nomura and co-directed by Hajime Tabata. It is the first Final Fantasy title that is going to use action-based combat instead of traditional turn-based combat.

    Nomura recently gave update on the status of the game stating that he is looking for a public event to reveal more info on Final Fantasy XV.

    Development on next-gen RPG Final Fantasy XV is coming along well, series producer Yoshinori Kitase has suggested, telling VideoGamer.com that the game is "quite far into development" and has been given a "very high priority" status by Square Enix.

    "We can't give too much information but certainly looking at Final Fantasy XV, it's not as if it's in competition with Kingdom Hearts 3 for resources or anything like that," Kitase said when asked for an update on the two games earlier this week. "It's quite far into development now and it is being given a very high priority within the company itself, but that doesn't mean Kingdom Hearts isn't."

    Both games were formally announced at E3 last year, with Final Fantasy XV having originally been revealed as Final Fantasy Versus XIII way back in 2006.

    But despite the name change the story doesn't appear to have seen too many alterations, with the game still "underpinned" by the same Fabulla Nova Crystallis mythology as the Final Fantasy XIII series.

    "Right from the start when we first it announced it as Versus XIII, the game itself was backed up by the same Crystal legend: the Fabulla Nova Crystallis mythology that underpins the whole of the XIII series," adds Kitase.

    "So even though it's not necessarily the same universe or the same game, they're all linked and underpinned by the backdrop of that legend. Now it's moved on - obviously the title's been changed to Final Fantasy XV - but that hasn't actually changed. The story and the world is still going to be linked and backed up by that. So yes, there is the link between XIII and XV, and they both share that mythology as a backdrop and a starting point."

    And while Kitase isn't directly overseeing Final Fantasy XV or Kingdom Hearts 3, he also shared his thoughts on how the power of Xbox One and PS4 could improve future Final Fantasy titles, hinting at the possibility of larger battles and bigger parties.

    "We are quite aware of [PS4 & Xbox One's] capabilities and certainly one thing that's going to come up is having battles with a lot more participants involved," he continued. "Having a lot more characters, a lot more things happening, that's one of the things that the new hardware does really well, so to maybe make a battle system for a Final Fantasy game or a future game that fits with that, I think it would be quite good to have more characters for the player to control and more participants in the battle."

    Rather than pour resources into developing an entirely new Battle System, Square may also adapt systems found in earlier Final Fantasy games for use in future titles.

    "In a way there is stuff from the past that we've done in previous Final Fantasies that may come in handy, that we may adapt or reuse or recreate for a future [title]," Kitase continued.

    "In the first two of the XIII series you had the Paradigm Shift system with AI controlled teammates which lends itself very well to having lots of characters. Or maybe having even deeper customisation, something that harks back to say the Gambit System in Final Fantasy XII. All those kind of ideas, it doesn't necessarily [mean] that something that we've used before is now invalid and can't be used, there's certainly a possibility of taking it and bringing it back. But I think it's going to be those kind of changes that the technology allows that we're going to have to maybe think and adapt for."

    Σαν να διαβαζω status report για το Versus πριν 3-4 χρονια. Επι της ουσιας τιποτα και φυσικα κουβεντα για το ποτε θα πρεπει να το περιμενουμε, προσωπικα απο την αρχη ελεγα (που στοιχηματιζαν πολλοι για κυκλοφορια μεσα στο 2014) οτι ακομα και το 2015 ειναι αισιοδοξη προβλεψη. Δεν θα μου κανει εντυπωση να κυκλοφορησει το 2016 και το Kingdom hearts ακομα αργοτερα.
