Sony has released an update that sorts out a problem with the "RGB Full" display option introduced in the last firmware distribution.

"In 1.80 we added an option to the XMB under settings allowing you to choose between RGB Full and Limited. Basically if you are connecting your PS3 to your TV using an HDMI cable, and if your TV supports RGB full range, the picture quality may be improved when this option is set to Full," PlayStation Network operations director Eric Lempel explains.

"Some of you pointed out that the Full setting would sometimes revert back to Limited and 1.81 will address this issue.

"Please keep in mind that this setting is only effective when the PS3 is connected to a TV using an HDMI cable."

The update, which brings the system software up to version 1.81, has yet to appear on the Japanese, US or UK PS3 support websites, but when we powered up our PS3 this morning it was there and waiting.

It's not clear if it does much beyond fixing the RGB Full bug, but Lempel concludes: "We're continually evaluating and improving PS2 software compatibility too."

Does anyone remember what life was like before the Sony blog? We don't. It's almost as if they wanted to answer our questions all along!

τελευταίο update για εμένα...με της βλάκειες τους! αι κανει κ μια ωρα να κατέβει λες κ έχουν προσθέσει τα χιλια μοιρια! βλαμενοι! τελευταίο update κ μετά κλείσημο το ps3! ας μην το παίζω καθόλου.

Γιατι τοσο νευριασμενος; Τι επαθες;
Παντος εγω ειχα προβλημα με την εικονα γιατι τρεμοπαιζε σε καποιες στιγμες. Πιστευω να λοιθη αυτο το προβλημα με το update αυτο. Τσαμπα αγορασα το αλλο HDMI καλωδιο. Νομιζα οτι ειχε προβλημα μετα υπεθεσα οτι εχει προβλημα η ΤV μου και τωρα παλι καλα που μας το ειπαν για να μην πεδευομαι
