- started early incubation in 2015
- studio was founded to build EA's own take on the open-world action adventure genre (AssCreed, GTA, etc)
- led by Jade Raymond prior to her joining Google
- trying to reinvent action-adventure genre, to be more "dynamic, living & breathing"
- wanting to be less about killing
- elements of shared-world experience
- back in 2017, it was aiming to be out by Q1 2022
