    Control devs say PS5 will let us "have much more detail in the game worlds than before

    With it, though, the SSD will lift the restrictions imposed by current systems, and will enable developers to craft more detailed worlds. "For something like Control, that could translate to an even deeper destruction system, richer, more detailed worlds, and simple quality-of-life improvements like instant reloading after dying." Technical director Mika Vehkala said that the SSD will also allow Remedy to stream in more data, "allowing us to have much more detail in game worlds than before."
    Vehkala also highlighted that harnessing the power of the SSD will also mean that games will require smaller install sizes, as "there is no need to duplicate data to compensate for slow seek times that optical drives and HDDs have."

    So anyways - about the actual issue at hand; there really is a diminishing returns issue in games. Every time you double the amount of polygons, the subject will only look marginally better than the previous generation did. The difference between PS1 and PS2 was enormous. The difference between PS2 and PS3 was smaller, although still very significant. The difference between PS3 and PS4 is clearly noticeable, but it's not as big a leap as previous generations were. Future generations will no doubt offer smaller changes in graphical fidelity, and put more focus on added features.

    According to a new report, games are running better on the PlayStation 5 in comparison to running on Xbox Scarlett, Xbox's untitled next-gen console. As you may know, previous reports from earlier this year have all suggested that the PS5 is more powerful than the Xbox Scarlett. If this is the case, then games running better on the Sony console makes sense. However, for now, this unofficial scuttlebutt. That said, according to yet another report, the PS5 is the superior of the two consoles, or at least it looks that way right now.
