SQUARE ENIX and Disney Interactive today revealed that development has begun on KINGDOM HEARTS HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, a compilation that brings the popular KINGDOM HEARTS [Dream Drop Distance] to the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system platform remastered in high definition.

Originally released in 2012, KINGDOM HEARTS [Dream Drop Distance] HD is a full-HD remastered version of KINGDOM HEARTS 3D [Dream Drop Distance]. Series protagonists Sora and Riku take on the Mark of Mastery exam in preparation for coming threats. The signature action of the KINGDOM HEARTS series has evolved, allowing players to experience faster-paced battles and exploration at a blistering pace.

Λοιπόν.. να το εξηγήσω κάπως...



H σειρά όταν θα βγει και το 3 με το καλό θα έχει 9 παιχνίδια. 9 βασικά παιχνίδια που λένε μια ιστορία.

Απ' όλες τις βλακείες που έκανε με το management της η Square Enix στις περασμένη γενιά, δεν υπάρχει καμία σειρά της που να "πληγώθηκε" περισσότερο από το Kingdom Hearts. Η σειρά στην ουσία κατακερματίστηκε σε 5-6 διαφορετικές πλατφόρμες και ο περισσότερος κόσμος έχει μείνει στο KH2 και στην νοοτροπία ότι τα handheld games δεν έχουν σημασία για να καταλάβεις την πλοκή.

Όταν ξύπνησαν και κατάλαβαν ότι ο περισσότερος κόσμος είχε παίξει τα 2 από τα 8 (τότε 7) παιχνίδια και ότι όταν κυκλοφορήσει το 9ο (KH3) θα έχουν να κάνουν με ένα fanbase το οποίο στην ουσία δεν έχει ιδέα τι γίνεται στη σειρά, αποφάσισαν να τα μαζέψουν σε συλλογές, σε μια (τώρα 2) κονσόλα, για να μπει εύκολα κάποιος στην σειρά. Οι συλλογές επίσης είναι βασισμένες στις εκδόσεις Final Mix των παιχνιδιών (σαν να λέμε την International Edition των FF κτλ)

Οι πρώτες 2 συλλογές περιέχουν τα 6/9 παιχνίδια. Αυτό που κάνει τώρα η Square στην ουσία είναι να βγάλει και τα τελευταία 2 (3D, χ).

Το 3D - Dream Drop Distance όπως φαίνεται και από τον τίτλο κυκλοφόρησε για το 3DS.

Το χ είναι ένα free browser game για την Ιαπωνία, το οποίο θα βγάλουν και σε iOS/Android (unchained χ). Η σημασία του δεν ξέρουμε ακόμα πόσο μεγάλη είναι γιατί γίνονται updates στα οποία προστίθενται story elements. Ξέρουμε ωστόσο ότι αναπτυσσει αρκετά τη μυθολογία της σειράς (πχ. η αρχική σκηνή με τα δύο αγόρια στο trailer της E3 για το 3 αναφέρεται καθαρά σε πράγματα που μαθαίνεις στο χ). Και τα δυο παιχνίδια είναι άρρηκτα συνδεδεμένα με το 3.

Το χ Back Cover που είναι στο 2.8 είναι λογικά ο επίλογος του χ (από το Back Cover, το χ μιλάει για τον Τόμο της Προφητείας, άρα το Back Cover του τόπου)..;;;; Δεν ξέρουμε ακόμα.

Και φτάνουμε στο 3ο κομμάτι της συλλογής, το 0.2 - A Fragmentary Passage -. Ίσως το πιο ενδιαφέρον από τα 3 σαν νέο.

Ο Nomura ήθελε να βγάλει και Birth by Sleep Volume 2. Μάλιστα στο secret ending του BBS FM (το οποίο λέγεται A Fragmentary Passage) είχε βάλει τον τίτλο BBS Volume 2.

Το πρόβλημα με αυτό τον τίτλο είναι ότι, απ' όσα ξέρουμε, κομμάτια του μπήκαν στο 3D και ότι στην ουσία θα έδειχνε τι έκαναν 3 βασικοί χαρακτήρες της σειράς, χωρίς να υπάρχει απαραίτητα μια συνοχή στην ιστορία (εξού και ο τίτλος, 'fragmentary').

Συνοψίζοντας.. για να παίξεις όλη τη σειρά θες τις 3 συλλογές και ίσως (δεν ξέρουμε ακόμα) το Unchained χ σε iOS/Android.

Κυκλοφορεί έντονα από πέρυσι η φήμη ότι υπάρχει και Kingdom Hearts 2.9 το οποίο δεν γίνεται να είναι κάτι άλλο πέρα από μια συλλογή ΟΛΩΝ των παιχνιδιών για το PS4.

Τραβάζει συζήτηση αυτό..

Κοίτα αντικειμενικά είναι κακογραμμένο και η πλοκή πολύ μπερδεμένη στο σύνολό της, αλλά είναι και ανάλογα τι σ' αρέσει. Υπάρχουν άτομα που τη λατρεύουν και ξέρουν τις λεπτομέρειες, υπάρχουν άτομα που απλά παίζουν για το gameplay και υπάρχουν και αυτοί που αναγνωρίζουν τα αρνητικά αλλά έχουν δεθεί και έχουν βρει πως να διαχειρίζονται τις όποιες βλακείες της σειράς (that's me). Ίσως τα Assassin's Creed να είναι μια καλή παρομοίωση για πολλούς.. Προσωπικά μ' αρέσει η βασική πλοκή όπως έχει εξελιχθεί και μ' αρέσει πολύ η ιστορία του 1 [διαμαντι! Πανέξυπνη ιδέα (Disney + Final Fantasy σε ένα παραμύθι) και τρομερή εκτέλεση του όλου concept - η μίξη της Disney και του FF δεν ήταν ποτέ ξανά τόσο πετυχημένη (με εξαίρεση το BBS και αυτό επειδή πατάει πολύ στο 1)] + BBS.

Γενικά τα περισσότερα προβλήματα της σειράς πηγάζουν από το ότι αρχικά περίμεναν ότι θα φτιαχτεί μόνο ένα παιχνίδι. Όταν όμως προς το τέλος της παραγωγής του πρώτου είπαν στον Nomura κάτι του στυλ "δεν θα το αφήσεις έτσι ε; Μιλάμε για το Final Fantasy!", εκείνος επέκτεινε την ιστορία και έδωσε τροφή για sequels (αν παίξεις καταλαβαίνεις πολύ καλά που έγινε αυτό). Κάνοντας αυτό χάλασε η ισορροπία FF/Disney με αποτέλεσμα πχ στα CoM, KH2 οι κόσμοι να είναι 90% filler ή πολλά story elements να πρέπει να αλλαχθούν εκ των υστέρων.

Μετά από κάμποσα χρόνια κατάφεραν και το μάζεψαν στο 6ο παιχνίδι της σειρας (BBS). Χρησιμοποίησαν το prequel για να εδραιώσουν ΟΛΗ την ιστορία του Saga, για να διορθωθούν διάφορες ασάφειες, να λυθούν κάποιες απορίες των fans και να μπορεί να λειτουργήσει η σειρά - πως βλέπεις το Avengers και λες "α αυτό στην πρώτη ταινία τελικά το χρησιμοποίησαν εδώ πέρα", το ίδιο έγινε και στο BBS. Και η ιστορία του συγκεκριμένου "κουμπώνει" τόσο καλά με τα υπόλοιπα που κάποιος δεν θα καταλάβαινε ότι είχαν μεσολαβήσει 8 χρόνια.

Αυτή η διεύρυνση συνεχίστηκε και στο 3D αλλά και στο χ τώρα. Γι αυτό πλέον αν ρωτήσεις κάποιον που έχει παίξει όλα τα παιχνίδια της σειρά δεν θα σου πει ότι η βασική πλοκή πάει KH1->KH2->KH3. Θα σου πει ότι πάει Birth by Sleep->Dream Drop Distance->KH3.

Εγώ να πω την αλήθεια θα στο πρότεινα αν σ' αρέσουν τα action RPGs. Θα σου έλεγα ωστόσο να μην παίρνεις την ιστορία πολύ στα σοβαρά και να περιμένεις πολύπλοκες εξηγήσεις. Η σειρά γενικά έχει πολύ καλό, ξέφρενο (ειδικά στα τελευταία) gameplay και πιστεύω ότι αν κάποιος τα παίξει μαζεμένα ίσως είναι καλύτερα για να μην μπλεξει κάποια πράγματα.

Nα cashαρει ηθελε και τοτε η SE βγαζοντας KH σε οποιαδηποτε πλατφορμα εβρισκε μπροστα της, το ιδιο θελει να κανει και τωρα με τους κατοχους του ps4. To λογικο θα ηταν να εβγαζε 1 συλλογη με ΟΛΑ τα παιχνιδια μετα το KH2, ακομα και αυτο σε δοσεις το κανει για να cashαρει.
Δεν θα παρω, παω κατ'ευθειαν για KH3 (2017,2018?) και ο,τι καταλαβω.

The KHX Back Cover will be completely new and not just taken from the current games


It specifically says that it will unravel the many mysteries that surround the origin of the series, so it seems like it will become an episode of great importance.


The story synopsis is basically the Chi synopsis, about the Master of Masters, who could see the future and saw great sorrow so he bestowed with his foreseeing eye the Book of Prophecy among 5 of his 6 pupils. They came together to form Unions in order to fight the dark beings (Heartless) and protecting the "light".


While it says it's unknown how much work has been put into 2.8 at this moment, it teases saying that since voices were attached to the KHX Back Cover section of the trailer, casting may be complete.

The most interesting thing is a very brief mention of BBS 0.2's story. It says it happens sometime along Aqua's loitering around in the Realm of Darkness, but it is specifically hiding where in the 10 year gap between BBS and KH1 this occurs.
During this loitering she stumbles across "unknown memories" and an encounter.

KH3D seems to have no additions, based solely on what this article is presenting. (Had a read through what it was saying for KH3D again, and it seems there might be new content. They say that the existence of additional components (content) is something people should ponder about (they are sort of implying there might be)

Following the official start of E3 2016, Dengeki has posted a new interview with Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura focusing on the newly revealed Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue demo that premiered at E3 2016 as well as other details surrounding the game and it's development in conjunction with Kingdom Hearts III.

Here are a few snippets gathered from the interview. A full translation of this interview will be added as soon as possible.

• Even though the news is not incoming as quickly as fans would hope, development is not delayed
• Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep 0.2 -A Fragmentary Passage- being the length of one world pertains more to the length of one world in Kingdom Hearts III. Tetsuya Nomura promises that this volume will be a decent length.
• The battle system in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep 0.2 -A Fragmentary Passage- is a mixture of Birth by Sleep as well as Kingdom Hearts III; the command deck is not present but special attacks and such consume MP as they would in previous games like Kingdom Hearts II. Magic will effect the surrounding area, as previously talked about for Kingdom Hearts III. Using magic in different sequences will also create different effects on enemies (such as using Blizzard and then Thunder).
• Lighting is something they focused on a lot during design for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III even though it hasn't been much of a major focus previously in the series.
• Height within the playable features of the world is something that was also focused on for these games.
• Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD plays with 60 frames per second.
• A new Dream Eater is introduced in the version of Dream Drop Distance included in Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue named Catnuki (or Pondanyan in Japanese) which is a combination of a cat and a racoon dog (more commonly known as a Tanuki)
• There is a possibility of The World Ends With You characters returning in the future but there are some difficulties.
• Tetsuya Nomura would like to give more Kingdom Hearts III news but at the moment it is important to focus on Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue so he asks fans to please look forward to winter of this year for more news.

-KH0.2 is the first KH title to implement lighting. So with that the visual will look different depending on the light. They will be adjusting the look until the release, but he wants fans to see the basic direction they are going for now
-E3 demo is the beginning part cut from full 0.2.
-There is a lot of verticality in the map. You might find it hard to figure out where to go and going somewhere highground will make it easier to see. small obstacles can be automatically moved through with free-run system
-Time being stopped is the gimmick only in the Cinderella world. Other worlds will have other gimmicks.
-0.2's volume is not as big as other KH titles, so new stuff gets unlocked early on.
-There is more to magic this time. Thunder will paralyze enemies for a bit, and you can slide around blizzard magic to move fast (these are shown in the video in OP I think)
-The heartless swam we see in the trailer is called Devil's Wave. It's not that strong right now because it's early form. But later on it will be scary.
-There is level up system in 0.2. The only keyblade will be the Master Eraqus keyblade.
-There are some collection element and other stuff to do
