They firstly said that one of their main goals for this game was to respect the original whilst also bringing a sort of freshness to the reimagined version that lets not only veteran fans enjoy it but new players as well , There was a big pressure on them while making the game and there was lots of long debates and discussions with the team , they also said they were thinking about what to do with the Remake with the minds of fans of RE2 when they played it 20 years ago and not just as developers
- When Asked about the Reception , They said they were pleasantly surprised with the Positive Reaction , The opening with the First Person view was an intentional misdirection because they want people to wonder what is this game and what is its type and they were really pleased when they heard grasps and cheers when leon appears
- They confirmed that Shusaku Uchiyama who was working as a composer of the original game will work on the Remake
- When asked if the Remake will be action focused , they said that since the very beginning of developing the game , their aim to respect the original game's atmosphere and make it a game with exploration, backtracking, metroidvania style of gameplay with stages you can come and go in , So the game won't be an action game with set pieces like RE4 and later middle series games were
- When asked about A/B Scenarios , They said they eliminated the A/B type of modes , however they said that they will replicate that feeling of seeing two sides to the same story through both character’s perspective in their own way just like it was in the A/B Scenarios and they will sort of mesh A/B Scenarios in both campaigns and that the two campaigns that still show all the events of each character’s story rather than have it all split up
- When asked about additional Camera beside OTS , They said they focused on OTS Camera so They aren't thinking about additional camera modes and they reconfirmed that OTS doesn't mean it will be an action game , They also said that Each type of camera presented in RE ( Fixed , OTS , FP ) has its own Pros and Cons so there isn't a clear winner for any particular game , One of the reasons why they went with OTS Camera is that it perfectly capture the claustrophobic encounters with zombies as u can see a close up view of the the biter and the bitten on screen at the same time , while in first person camera, you see the zombie but not yourself; and in fixed camera you see both but it’s more zoomed out and not as intense
- When asked about encountering iconic RE2 enemies like Mr.X , Birkin and the licker in OTS view , they said that they updated the enemy mechanics to suit the OTS Camera and they had to reconsider the space that the characters are in with the new camera angles and Gave detailed example on Licker first fight in Fixed Camera in OG RE2 Vs their reimagined version in OTS Camera in the Remake
- They explained that while the game is a " Re-imagination" of the original game but it isn't a reboot , So it will still have that 1998 feelings and atmosphere and gave example that the music you might hear in the radio is in from that era
- When asked about Elza Walker Costume and Whether there will be other additions from RE1.5 , They said that they added the costume for fun as some RE Fans might had seen RE1.5 and they thought that those fans might want to experience it but had cleared that apart from this , They hadn't included anything else from RE1.5
- They ended the interview with their confidence that People will enjoy the product and that they themselves are fans of the original game and They hoped that everyone enjoy it
