Travel broadens the mind, right? This is our motto at Appeal and we dedicate ourselves to create fun and living worlds for players to travel to. Today, Im very proud to present you our adventure game, Outcast – Second Contact, coming soon on PS4.
Outcast is an open world action-adventure game taking the player on an epic journey to Adelpha, an alien planet as dangerous as it is beautiful. In the game, humanity has discovered that it is not alone. Unfortunately, the first contact with intelligent beings has taken a disastrous turn. You are Cutter Slade, a Special Forces soldier sent to Adelpha on a last-ditch mission.
Lost in a foreign world, you will have to earn the trust of the natives, master a powerful arsenal and unveil the mysteries of an enchanting world in order to complete your mission: save Earth from total destruction.
If this looks familiar to you thats because Outcast was originally released in 1999 and was one of the very first 3D open world action-adventure games. It used software voxel rendering techniques to create a vast and immersive 3D world, offering a movie-like experience with 15 hours of dialogue, a symphonic soundtrack and 50 hours of thrilling adventures!
With Outcasts never before seen level of freedom, it was something truly extraordinary for the time.
Ever since, Outcast fans have been asking for another trip back to the alien planet of Adelpha. Now is the time! We, at Appeal, are very excited to present Outcast – Second Contact, the full remake of the original game which will be coming, for the first time, to PlayStation 4 this autumn. Check out our new trailer below and see just how far weve come:

Spyro the Dragon PS4 remaster is down to Activision, says original dev
A Spyro the Dragon PS4 remaster is unlikely to be developed by the series' original creator, Insomniac Games.source: PlayStation UniverseInsomniac Games has touched on the possibility of a Spyro the Dragon PS4 remaster, stating any such project would be firmly down to publisher Activision.
The Resistance: Fall of Man developer was quizzed about the chance of remastering its 2000 title Spyro: Year of the Dragon on Twitter, to which it responded:
“Thats up to Activision, and like Naughty Dog didnt do the Crash port, we probably wouldnt do Spyro ourselves,” said the studio. This shouldnt come as much of a surprise, seeing as how remasters are typically outsourced to specialised companies, such as Bluepoint Games, who handled Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection for PS4 among many others.
Spyro the Dragon remains one of the most popular gaming franchises from the late 90s, debuting for the original PlayStation back in 1998. Two sequels followed; Spyro 2: Riptos Rage and Spyro: Year of the Dragon in 1999 and 2000, respectively. Much like Crash Bandicoot however, the franchise changed hands many times following the PSOne trilogy, with original developer Insomniac Games moving on to new endeavours including Ratchet & Clank for the PS2.
While the games were initially published by Sony Computer Entertainment, Spyro was picked up by numerous publishers from 2000 onwards, including Konami, Universal Studios, Sierra Entertainment, and finally Activision, who took over rights to the IP in 2008 to develop a brand new trilogy known as The Legend of Spyro. The final entry in the series to date, Dawn of the Dragon, shipped in November 2008 for PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox 360, and Nintendo DS.
Nothing official has been announced regarding a remaster for the PS4, although Sony seems to be teasing something in the pipeline.

Report: Okami HD Heading for Xmas Release on PS4/Xbox One
source: KotakuAccording to two independent sources, both verified by Kotaku UK, Capcom is porting Okami to PS4 and Xbox One and it will see release this December.
The evidence we've seen shows that two different European retail chains have recently added Okami HD to their internal upcoming physical releases calendar. Both retail chains are in different parts of the EU, and both list the game as releasing on 12th December 2017. The detail of the physical release is especially interesting, as the 2012 HD release on PS3 was only available as a download in the west (despite the Japanese boxed release featuring multi-region language support).
In the games industry, one should beware of placing too much faith in retail schedules. Not only is the information sometimes inaccurate, but it's relatively easy to fake. Nevertheless, our two sources had similar information, and we verified both as working where they claimed.
Capcom UK is currently dodging our calls and emails, but we've reached out for comment and will update if they respond.
