• With Share Play, two PSN players in the same party can share a game screen. • To initiate Share Play, select [Share Play] from the party screen. Use of some features requires a PlayStation Plus membership.
• Video clips can now be uploaded to YouTube.
• You can now set themes for home screens and function screens for each user. Themes can be downloaded from PlayStation Store. Select themes in [Settings] > [Themes].
• You can now play music stored on USB storage devices. Connect a USB storage device containing music files (MP3 or AAC) to the PS4 system, and then select [USB Music Player] from the content area.

Share

• You can now view broadcasts from the past.
• Broadcasts can now be filtered by language. With the list of broadcasts displayed, press the OPTIONS button, and then select [Language].
• You can now follow your favorite channels or broadcasters.
• [Featured) has been added. You can browse broadcasts such as PlayStationοŸ…-recommended broadcasts, broadcasts from Friends, and broadcasts you follow.
• [Games] has been added. Broadcasts for each game are displayed.
• Twitch icons can now be displayed in comments.

Settings

• You can now set the length of time your controller will charge while your PS4 system is in Rest Mode (formerly known as Standby Mode – see below). Set the time in [Settings] > [Power Save Settings] > [Set Functions Available in Rest Mode] > [Supply Power to USB Ports].
• [View Guide] and [Commands for Voice Operation] have been added to [Settings] > [System] > [Voice Operation Settings]. You can view a list of details and hints about operating the PS4 system with your voice.
• [Input Device] and [Output Device] have been added to [Settings] > [Devices] > [Audio Devices]. Also, [Output to Headphones] in [Settings] > [Sound and Screen] > [Audio Output Settings] has moved to [Settings] > [Devices] > [Audio Devices].
• [Mouse] has been added to [Settings] > [Devices].

Other

• Names of players you may know can now be displayed in areas such as your Friends list or under What's New. You can set whether to display your real name and profile picture to other players you may know in [Settings] > [PSN] > [Privacy Settings] > [Connecting with Friends] > [Players You May Know].
• You can now search for players by entering their real names in areas such as [Friends]. You can set whether to display your real name and profile picture in other players' search results in [Settings] > [PSN] > [Privacy Settings] > [Connecting with Friends] > [Search].
• You can now record a voice message by pressing the Triangle button in the [Messages] screen.
• The layout of the [Party] screen has been improved.
• The number of content items displayed in the content area has been changed. Content items that are not displayed can be reviewed in [Library]. You can review all content items in the content area by removing the checkmark from [Limit Number of Content Items on Home Screen] in [Settings] > [System].
• [PS button] now appears in some notification messages. You can view details about a message by pressing the PS button when the message is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen.
• When you connect a new device to your system, you can check the remaining battery charge in the system message that is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen.

Trophies

• You can now delete trophies with 0% achievement progress.
• [Earned Date], [Not Earned] and [Grade] have been added as sorting options for trophies. You can also sort by [Earned Date] and [Not Earned] options when comparing trophies with other players.
• You can now search the Internet for details about trophies from the options menu in [Trophies].
• Screenshots of scenes when you earn trophies are now saved automatically. You can view saved screenshots in (Capture Gallery).
• You can now share trophy details and screenshots. Select the trophy you want to share details about in [Trophy] and then press the SHARE button.

Share Play

• You can now test the host’s connection speed when starting Share Play.
• You can now enjoy Share Play at 60 fps. A host in a party can adjust the setting in [Party Settings] > [Video Quality for Share Play] > [Frame Rate].

Other

• Users who are your Facebook friends can now be displayed in [Players You May Know].
• You can now send real-name requests in addition to Friend requests to users who are currently not on your Friends list.
• You can now apply a shadow style for text in [Themes].
• You can now enter up to 140 characters for your self-introduction.
• You can now use the touch pad to operate playback of videos on discs.

• (Play Together) has been added to (Party). For online multiplayer games that support the Play Together feature, you can automatically invite other players and start game sessions immediately.
• Notification messages are now displayed when Friends go online. You can change the setting in (Settings) > [Notifications] > [When Friends Go Online].

• When using Remote Play on a Windows PC, Mac, Xperia Smartphone or Xperia Tablet, you can now use your device’s microphone for voice chat in games or in parties.
• You can now use screenshots to customise the background of your home screen and function screen. Select (Settings) > [Themes] > [Select Theme] > [Custom].
• You can now post screenshots directly to activities, such as those shown in [What’s New]. Press the SHARE button, select [Screenshot] and then select [Activities] as the upload destination. Also, you can now tag games and fellow players.

• You now have the option to share screenshots on PlayStation Network. When sharing, you can also adjust privacy settings.

  • Up to seven family members (including you) can be in your family and use online features.
  • Multiple adults can be in your family. The family manager can make other adults in the family parents or guardians. The family manager and family members who are parents or guardians can adjust parental controls for the children in your family.
  • You can configure parental control settings for each child. Using parental controls, you can restrict use of online features and communication with other players, set restrictions for games, restrict use of the Internet browser and set spending limits for PlayStation Store.
  • You can configure parental controls at any time from your PC or smartphone.
  
  
• You can now follow anyone, not just verified accounts. Select (Follow) on a person’s profile screen and their activities and broadcasts will appear in [What’s New]. You automatically follow your Friends, but you have the option to unfollow them.
  
  • Recommendations for who to follow are now offered based on the games you play. Select (Friends) > (Follow).
  • You can now choose who can follow you and who can see your follow lists. Select (Settings) > [Account Management] > [Privacy Settings] and then configure each setting.
  
  
• (Custom Lists) has been added to (Friends). Create custom lists to easily organise your Friends and choose players to send messages or game invitations to.
• For certain broadcasts, (Communities) now appears on the (Live from PlayStation) viewing screen. To access the broadcaster’s community, select (Communities).
• You can now view (Notifications) on the quick menu.

Main features in version 5.50 update

• As a family manager, parent or guardian, you can now monitor your child’s time played (the amount of time they’ve spent logged in to the PS4) and set restrictions accordingly. To manage play time settings for each child, select (Settings) > [Parental Controls/Family Management] > [Family Management].
  
  • You can view your child’s total time played for the day.
  • You can limit how long your child plays per day and set playable hours to prevent play late at night or at other unwanted times. Restrictions can be set for each day of the week.
  • When the set play time ends, a pop-up notification appears repeatedly on the screen to let your child know that they’re out of play time. If you choose, the PS4 can automatically log your child out when play time ends.
  • You can also extend or shorten your child’s play time on the day they play.
  • You can view and manage your child’s play time at any time from your PC or smartphone using the (PlayStation App) or by visiting this website. https://www.playstation.com/acct/family
  
  
• The following features have been added to (Library):

Other features in version 5.50

• [Supersampling Mode] has been added to (Settings) > [Sound and Screen] > [Video Output Settings]. Enable this mode to improve image quality in some games when your PlayStation 4 Pro is connected to a TV with 2K resolution or lower. This setting is only available on PlayStation 4 Pro.
• You can now customise logos and backgrounds with your favourite images. On the image selection screen, select image files from a USB storage device. Customise any of the following:

γιατί κάθε μέρα ανακαλύπτω ότι λείπουν πάρα πολλά χαρακτηριστικά που είτε υπάρχουν σε PS3 ή Vita
είτε ήταν αυτονόητα να υπάρχουν εξ'αρχής.

Τα βασικά που λείπουν είναι τα παρακάτω αλλά θα μπορούσα να γράφω για ώρες για απλά και αυτονόητα πράγματα που απουσιάζουν.

Για τα official headsets δεν τίθεται θέμα, έχουν δεσμευτεί πως θα δουλεύουν,
oι μικρές προσθήκες και βελτιώσεις είναι το θέμα που δεν ξέρουμε αν ποτέ γίνουν,
π.χ. σε άλλο thread γράφεις δεν κρατάνε τα χειριστήρια, ήταν τόσο δύσκολο να βάλουν στις ρυθμίσεις ένα on/off για το light bar του DS4?

Επίσης δεν μπορώ να καταλάβω γιατί δεν έχει στα settings μια επιλογή οn/off για το μικρόφωνο της κάμερας,
φαντάζομαι πολλοί που δεν θέλουν να κάνουν chat τραβάνε το καλώδιο όταν παίζουν multiplayer.
Στο Vita π.χ. είναι κάτι απλό, κρατάς πατημένο το PS button, μπαίνεις στο γρήγορο μενού και κάνεις disable το μικρόφωνο.

Στο Vita μπορώ να παίζω και ταυτόχρονα ν'ακούω mp3, ούτε καν CD δεν υποστηρίζει το PS4.

To touch pad είναι ανεκμετάλευτο στον internet browser
όταν το War Thunder το υποστηρίζει μια χαρά για πλοήγηση στα μενού του παιχνιδιού σαν να χειρίζεσαι ποντίκι.
Αν υποστήριζε και flash ο browser θα ήταν ακόμα καλύτερα.

Tις προάλλες που είχε πέσει το PSN στο PS4 δεν μπορούσα να δω τα trophies!!!
έπαιζα παιχνίδι και δεν είχα πρόσβαση να δω τι μου λείπει και τι πήρα,
στα PS3 και Vita υπήρχε εξ'αρχής η δυνατότητα να βλέπεις τα τρόπαια ενώ είσαι offline.

Πας να κατεβάσεις 2-3 αρχεία και τα κατεβάζει όλα ταυτόχρονα, έλεος ρε Sony να μην υπάρχει επιλογή για pause στα downloads
όταν υπάρχει ήδη στα PS3 και Vita.

Eίναι κι άλλα πολλά αλλά τα θυμάμαι όταν τα συναντώ στο PS4 και εκνευρίζομαι.
