PS4's 2.50 firmware update will begin rolling out tomorrow, March 26, Sony has announced.


The update includes a variety of major new features, including the option to suspend and resume software and backup your PS4 hard drive to external storage.


It also lets users upgrade their sub-account to a Master account, remove games from the Trophy list that have 0 percent completion, and use Remote and Share Play at 60fps.


A range of new accessibility options will also let players reassign controller buttons on their DualShock 4, enlarge system text, invert colours on screen and convert text to speech.


Suspend/Resume was first announced at the PS4's reveal event over two years ago.

Features coming to PS4 with “Yukimura” include:

Έγινε η αναβάθμιση και από εμένα χωρίς κανένα απολύτως πρόβλημα

Εγώ λογικά μεσα στο ΣΚ θα την κάνω μιας και σήμερα σίγουρα δεν προλαβαίνω.

Έκανα εγκατάσταση και ξεκίνησα το ψαχούλεμα.

Στα πολύ σύντομα, χωρίς να αναφερθώ σε όσα ήδη γνωρίζουμε από την επίσημη Sony ενημέρωση περί firmware 2.50:

- Για να ενεργοποιηθεί το game suspend / resume θα πρέπει να το τσεκάρουμε από τα Settings, Power Settings.

- Όσο και να έψαξα, δεν βρήκα πουθενά επιλογή να απενεργοποιήσω την αυτόματη φωτογράφιση όταν κερδίζεις ένα τρόπαιο, μια λειτουργία που εμφανίστηκε με το νέο firmware (ελπίζω κάπου να υπάρχει και να μην την βρήκα, αν και έψαξα ένα-ένα όλα τα settings).

- Το PlayStation Store έφυγε από την πρώτη γραμμή (Playstation Dynamic Menu - PDM) και μεταφέρθηκε πρώτο - πρώτο αριστερά στην γραμμή παιχνιδιών / εφαρμογών.

- Όσοι ενδιαφέρονται να χρησιμοποιήσουν τις δυνατότητες προσβασιμότητας (accessibility), μπορούν να βρουν μια επιλογή η οποία προσθέτει όποιες από αυτές επιθυμούν στο Quick Menu (παρατεταμένο πάτημα του Home Button).

- Αναφέρεται στην επίσημη ενημέρωση το γεγονός πως στο What's New πλέον υπάρχει καταχώριση / εικονίδιο που δείχνει ποιοι φίλοι παίζουν κάποιο παιχνίδι και μέσα από αυτό μπορούμε απευθείας να κάνουμε join. Ως έξτρα "bonus", στην κατηγορία Friends, υπάρχει στα αριστερά η αντίστοιχη ένδειξη, για να κάνουμε ακριβώς το ίδιο.

- Οι μηδενικές καταχωρήσεις Τροπαίων στα παιχνίδια, μπορούν πλέον να σβηστούν, μεταβαίνοντας πάνω στην εν λόγω καταχώρηση, πατώντας το πλήκτρο Options και επιλέγοντας Delete. Στα παιχνίδια που έχουν έστω και 1 τρόπαιο, δεν υπάρχει η επιλογή Delete. Το "δυστυχές" της υπόθεσης, είναι ότι απουσιάζει η χρήσιμη επιλογή να σβήνονται με ένα κλικ όλες οι μηδενικές καταχωρίσεις, καθώς ο υφιστάμενος τρόπος απαιτεί να τις βρεις μια-μια, κάτι που κουράζει αν έχεις παίξει πολλά παιχνίδια με 0% τρόπαια. Το να σβηστούν οι μηδενικές καταχωρίσεις, εξυπηρετεί σε γρηγορότερο "φόρτωμα" της τροπαιολίστας.

- Στο Quick Menu (παρατεταμένο πάτημα του Home Button), οι επιλογές για το DualShock 4 πλέον είναι πλήρεις, δηλαδή εμφανίζονται συγκεντρωμένες όλες, από την ρύθμιση του μικρού speaker, την φωτεινότητα του Light Bar έως τις επιλογές έντασης ήχου στα ακουστικά. Πριν το νέο firmware κάποιες επιλογές (δεν χρειάζεται να αναφέρω για να μην μεγαλώσει πολύ το ποστ), δεν προσφέρονταν στο Quick Menu, ενώ μάλιστα, στην καρτέλα Settings βρίσκονταν σε διαφορετικές κατηγορίες. Τώρα, επαναλαμβάνω, βρίσκονται όλες μαζί στο Q.M.

- Περί δυνατότητας "σύνδεσης" με Dailymotion αναφέρεται η επίσημη ανακοίνωση.

- Η κατηγορία Downloads στην καρτέλα Notifications, πλέον έχει 3ψήφιο δεκαδικό αριθμό πχ. 2.945 GB κατεβασμένα από τα συνολικά 3.657 GB.

- Πάλι στην καρτέλα Notifications, τέρμα κάτω προστέθηκε η κατηγορία "Discover", που η χρησιμότητά της είναι αμφίβολη κατά πόσο εξυπηρετεί σε κάτι (εμένα τουλάχιστο, που "ψειρίζω" τις επιλογές / δυνατότητες κάθε νέου firmware).

- Μην ξεχάσω: το Rest Mode (απλώς κατεβάζοντας κάτι στα Downloads, χωρίς να έχω φορτωμένο παιχνίδι), είναι ακόμα mixed bag. Μια εκκινεί το PS4 σε χρόνο DT (λιγότερο από 2 δευτερόλεπτα), μια σε 5-6 δευτερόλεπτα. Βέβαια, σε κάθε περίπτωση, είναι σαφέστατα πολύ πιο γρήγορη (η εκκίνηση) σε σχέση με πριν.

- Επίσης μην ξεχάσω, στην καρτέλα τέρμα δεξιά "Power Options" ή αλλιώς μέσω Quick Menu, υπάρχει η δυνατότητα Restart (Close all applications and restart PS4), κάτι που σίγουρα θα φανεί χρήσιμο.

Αυτά προς το παρόν, αν βρω / ανακαλύψω κάτι περαιτέρω θα ποστάρω αντίστοιχα.

Αυτό πάντως με την βελτίωση - συντόμευση της διαδικασίας δημιουργίας party chat (streamlined όπως την λένε στα ξένα), δεν εντόπισα ποια είναι. Όπως το έκανες πριν, έτσι είναι και τώρα, τα ίδια βήματα κάνεις.

Όλα όσα γράφει το παραπάνω λινκ καλύπτονται λεπτομερώς από την επίσημη ενημέρωση, αλλά φαίνεται ότι δεν το έψαξαν ιδιαίτερα αφού κάποια σχόλια - παρατηρήσεις μου, δεν αναφέρονται καν. (δεν το λέω για να το παίξω "κάποιος", αλλά wtf ρε γμτ, ένας απλός χρήστης σε φόρουμ είμαι, ενώ οι άλλοι εργάζονται σε site και στήνουν κανονική καταχώριση σε αυτή, οπότε ας στρώσουν κώλο κάτω να ψάξουν και όχι να νοιάζονται για το πόσο γρήγορα θα αναρτήσουν την "ενημερωτική my ass ανάρτηση" ώστε να μαζέψουν επισκέψεις)

Αυτό πάντως το auto install of system updates δεν θα το έβαζα με τιποτε σε συσκευή της Sony.

Αναρωτιέμαι αν με το νέο αυτό update θα διορθωθεί ένα μικρό (και αδιάφορο) θεματάκι που έχω στο PS4. Στα παιχνίδια ανάμεσα στο overview και το activity εκεί που δείχνει τους φίλους που παίζουν το κάθε παιχνίδι, εμένα δεν δείχνει τα avatar/icons τους αλλά στο 95% ένα κοινό εικονίδιο για όλους και μόνο σε ελάχιστους και συγκεκριμένους χρήστες το κανονικό. Μόνο σε αυτό το σημείο καθώς σε όλα τα άλλα μέρη που παρουσιάζεται αυτό το εικονίδιο το δείχνει κανονικά για τον καθένα τους. Δεν είναι πρόσφατο θέμα, "χάλασε" σε κάποιο update μιας και πριν το έδειχνε κανονικά και έκτοτε έχει περάσει minor updates χωρίς να επιλυθεί το "πρόβλημα".

Οταν εχουμε suspended καποιο game ξερουμε αν απο καποια ωρα και μετα η κονσολα επιβαρνεται σημαντικα? Για παραδειγμα αν το εχω 10 ωρες σε Rest-Mode κανω κακο στην κονσολα μου?
