    Μπα, όχι day 1 αλλά νομίζω near launch? Δεν έχουν δώσει ακόμη επίσημη ημερομηνία, όπου είδα μιλάνε για 2014 αλλά δείχνει σε πολύ προχωρημένο state για να αργήσει πολύ.

    ^^ Eγω γιατι νομιζω οτι δεν ειναι σε προχωρημενο σταδιο? Θελω να πω εχουν δειξει μονο ενα τρεηλερ, ακυρωθηκε η παρουσια του παιχνιδιου στην gamescom , δεν ξερω, νιωθω οτι ακομα θελει δουλεια το παιχνιδι. Μακαρι βεβαια να εχεις δικιο Νεκταριε και να ειναι near launch. Απλα βλεπω το infamous που και αυτο ειναι near launch και εχουν δειξει τοσο υλικο και στο 1886 τιποτα...

    εν τω μεταξυ οι εικονες δινουν ενα open world feeling, αλλα εχω την εντυπωση οτι μιλαμε για λinear 3rd person shooter?

    Και εγώ χλωμό το κόβω να είναι open-world αλλά μπορούν να κάνουν παπάδες αν χρησιμοποιήσουν έξυπνα το setting και το concept....

    Φαινεται παντως τουμπανο σαν setting.Εχει τελικα η SM τον τροπο να φτιαχνει "βαρια"/στιβαρα hardcore παιχνιδια ακομη και απο ενα teaser, αυτην τhν αισθηση μου εδωσε.

    Το δουλεύουν από το 2010 όμως και έχουν πει ότι σε αυτή την γενιά ο κύκλος παραγωγής θα είναι πολύ μικρότερος από αυτόν του PS3, άρα είναι ήδη πολλά χρόνια. Πάντως ναι όλοι λένε για το 2014 ίσως πριν το καλοκαίρι και επίσημα δεν έχει δοθεί σαν launch τίτλος, λάθος μου.

    That piece of information is that The Order: 1886 is slated for release in 2014, clearing up some confusion about just how far out the game actually is. Indeed, Ru Weerasuriya, Ready at Dawn’s founder and CEO, as well as the writer of The Order: 1886, stated that the game is “still a year or so off” during our behind-closed-doors session, indicating that we may be playing the game as soon as late summer next year, sooner than most people expected.

    Καλυτερα, να εχουμε πραγμα να παιξουμε καθολη την διαρκεια του χρονου. Καλοκαιρι 2014 sounds fine. Θα ηθελα παντως το παιχνιδι να μην ειναι τοσο linear, ή να ειναι τελως παντων linear στο στλυ του Last of Us οπου εχεις ενα feeling open world και πολυ πραγμα να ψαξεις και να εξερευνησεις...

    Σοβαρα το artwork δειχνει καταπληκτικο.

    Είναι Third Person Action/Adventure Game επίσημα, αλλά θα μπορούσε να είναι και 4 player co-op τίτλος. Εγώ παίρνω τον πρωταγωνιστή - πρόλαβα
    Εγώ θέλω τον side-kick που στα περισσότερα co-op games είναι πολύ πιο ενδιαφέροντας απο τον πρωταγωνιστή!

    The Order: 1886′s advanced physics system revealed at gamescom 2013


    This morning El33tonline was lucky enough to attend a gamescom session for Ready at Dawn’s upcoming PS4 exclusive The Order: 1886. The session was hosted by the studio’s CEO and Creative Director, Ru Weerasuriya, who previously directed the smash hit God of War: Chains of Olympus for PSP.
    Ru spent most of the session talking about how The Order: 1886 uses a revolutionary physics system which allows individual objects and its constituent materials to be realistically broken up or deformed ad infinitum. During his presentation the audience was treated to two live prototype gameplay demonstrations (running on a PC with PS4-approximate specs) showing these features in action, and also demonstrating how objects in the environment such as flags are affected by the physical forces associated with a particular environment (in this case wind). Each of the three flags we saw in the second demo fluttered independently of each other, seemingly affected by their position in relation to the wind.
    Whereas most games don’t feature deforming materials, Ready at Dawn is determined to create a true next-gen experience by allowing players to interact with the game’s environments in unprecedented ways using the various weapons you’ll be able to equip over the course of your adventure. During the first demo we saw how throwing a grenade into a wooden box blows it into tiny splinters. If you throw another grenade into the newly formed mass of splinters then the resulting explosion will blow them into even smaller fragments. The effect really is astonishingly realistic!
    In the second demo Ru demonstrated how objects in The Order: 1886 will deform according to what material they’re made out of. For example, a copper bucket or metallic wall will visibly dent when shot, while a teddy bear (dumped onto the level for the purpose of this demo) will break up into separate pieces when the same treatment is handed out. Obviously, the type of gun and ammunition being used will also influence how materials in the game react based on the real-world laws of physics which govern them.

    Based on what we saw in the two live gameplay demonstrations, The Order: 1886 will be a cover-based shooter with an over-the-shoulder camera perspective in the style of Resident Evil 4 or Gears of War.

    The Order: 1886 debuted in a trailer at E3, showing three people in elaborate military formals, riding in a plush carriage through London's Victorian era. Dirigible-inspired hovercrafts float around Big Ben as the carriage rolls into Whitechapel, a dank, industrial part of town, and the trio carry heavy-duty weapons engraved with fleurs-de-lis. When they're attacked by a group of bipedal beasts, one passenger pulls out a gun that shoots lightning. These details caused us, and most other viewers, to casually label the game as "steampunk."

    The Order is not steampunk, Ready at Dawn co-founder Ru Weerasuriya told me during Gamescom.

    "It's a word that we don't use – it's the 's' word," Weerasuriya said. "We don't use that word purely because I think there's a connotation of 'steampunk' that's already been built into a lot of things out there – movies, anime, all that. That is not exactly the one we try to endear to. I think our world is a lot darker, grittier, dirtier and more real."

    If "steampunk" is the "s" word, then "fantasy" is the "f" word – Ready at Dawn isn't interested in creating an exaggerated, fantastical world full of things that could never exist. Weerasuriya wants The Order to challenge the validity of our real history, proposing an alternate timeline of events in Europe, specifically London, directly after the Industrial Revolution.

    "What if everything you know today and the events that happened did happen, but they didn't happen for the reason that you believe?" he asked. "What could be different in the way that we view our world? It's full of mystery and it's fun to see where those mysteries lie."

    Internally, Ready at Dawn calls The Order "Neo-Victorian," and the game obviously does include things that don't actually exist – but they could have. The goal is to feature weapons, events and people that could be real, in an alternate history. The team operates on a guiding principle: If a person today can believe it, it's fine to add in the game. If not, it's out.

    I tested that mantra with a hypothetical addition: superpowers.

    "Well, I can't talk to you exactly about that stuff, since we haven't mentioned everything, but you'll find out," Weerasuriya said.

    The Order is a third-person action game, a style that harkens back to Ready at Dawn's involvement in the God of War franchise. The studio has a 10-year history with Sony, and this is its first original IP entering full development; it's exclusive to the PS4 and due out in 2014.

    This emphasis on the "reality" of things in The Order transfers to Ready at Dawn's development of the AI and physics systems, where it's pushing the hardware to make object interaction look viable and feel natural. As for the DualShock 4's hardware, its touchpad capabilities:

    "We haven't talked about that yet, but it's a great controller so I can only imagine things that we can do with it," Weerasuriya said.

    He seems to have a good imagination – maybe he'll make the controller shock anyone who calls The Order "steampunk."

    «Το Uncharted 2 ήταν για το κοινό μια εμπειρία αντάξια ενός χολιγουντιανού μπλοκμπάστερ», είπε ο Ρου Γουιρασουρίγια, συνιδρυτής της Ready at Dawn σε συνέντευξη που έδωσε στο Eurogamer, λέγοντας πως το επίτευγμα της Naughty Dog αποτελεί πηγή έμπνευσης για το The Order: 1866.

    Τα βιντεοπαιχνίδια δεν το κάνουν αρκετά αυτό. Κάποιες φορές το μόνο που σου μένει είναι μια αλληλουχία gameplay που επαναλαμβάνεται μέχρι το τέλος. Αυτοί (σ.σ. η Naughty Dog) μας έδωσαν έναν σωρό πράγματα που φτιάχνουν ένα σύνολο. Αφού έπαιζες το παιχνίδι έλεγες, γουάου, ωραία εμπειρία. Από εκεί έρχεται η δική μας έμπνευση. [...] Αυτό θέλουμε να κάνουμε. Αυτό σημαίνει για εμάς “βιντεοπαιχνίδι”».
    Το The Order: 1866 είναι φυσικά αποκλειστικός τίτλος για το PS4 και... πολύ θα θέλαμε να ξέρουμε για πότε προορίζεται για να κυκλοφορήσει. Ας είναι, το βικτοριανό, ομιχλώδες Λονδίνο και το στιμπάνκικο περιεχόμενο (είναι της μόδας γαρ) μας δίνουν πράγματα για να περιμένουμε.

    • In concept since 2005
    • Trailer graphics are what you can expect it to look like in-game
    • Everything in the world is rendered with soft body physics
    • Metal beams react for example to magnetic forces, bending and shifting in real time
    • Incredible attention to detail: Lens flare catches light as you rotate the camera, oil lamps flash independently in an underground scene, light bouncing off every object provides uncanny realism, insane attention to material detail like wood, leather and cloth.
    • Clouds and particles of dust float around lamp flames, subtely settling down on the camera lense
    • Ready at Dawn spent a lot of time making the weapons unique, giving each personality. Grounded in understandable science but also have behaviors that you wouldn't expect
    • Examples of guns: Arc Gun like you saw in the trailer, Combo Gun has two different settings, you can blow enemies back with a non-lethal charge to make space as well as using standard rifle fire, Thermite Rifle can shoot a chemical onto enemies, using secondary fire to shoot flares to light them on fire, frag grenades can be used typically or hoisted onto the environment via spikes
    • Around 7th or 8th century, humanity splinters, with many getting 'beastial traits', becoming 'half breeds'
    • Thus begins the conflict
    • Humanity basically forms a version of the Knights of the Round Table, in this case, The Order to fight off this enemy
    • Through a strange turn of events, they discover a substance called "black water", giving them unusually long lives and unique ability to recover from injury
    • The Knights continue to age, but at a much, much slower rate which they use to battle for centuries
    • It's basically a curse given they continuously see everything around them leave and die off, it's both a salvation and a curse for them
    • This leads up to the 19th century and the changes facilitate the unique futuristic Industrial Age you see before you
    • You play as Grayson, known as "Sir Galahad" (guy with the porn stache)
    • A new threat emerges as parts of society (humans) begin to rebel against the rulership and are disgruntled with the inequality between layers of society
    • Battle scenes are chaotic and exciting, with use of cover, somewhat similar to of Gears of War
    • Ready at Dawn took a unique twist to QTEs, sometimes melee attacks occur during gameplay, time slows down and you can rotate your camera and find different things in the environment to give you an edge. These can range from dodging a punch or grabbing an improvised weapon for example
    • Focused on a very strong story driven single player now, not willing to talk about any multiplayer

    Το μονο θεμα μου ειναι ποσο on rails ειναι το παιχνιδι... εχει καθολου exploration elements? Ή απλα πας απο gunfight σε gunfight?

    Θελω πιο ανοιχτα περιβαλλοντα και εξερευνηση.

    Σε μία φάση στο video παίζει με DS3 wtf? Κατά τα άλλα η sony λέει οτι το ps4 δεν θα βλέπει DS3.

    Πάντως το βιδεο πρέπει να έχει τραβηχτή πριν αρκετό καιρό μιας και δεν έχουν PS4 παρά μόνο το dev orbis.

    Εκτός και εάν αυτό είναι ένα early dev DS4, τα αρχικά dev kits μπορεί να είχαν backwards compatibility με το DS3 και στην πορεία με την οριστικοποίηση του DS4 να την ξήλωσαν για τα retail μηχανήματα.
