Insomniac Readies To Announce New Title

They recently teased that there's an announcement coming, and it's close enough for them to request interested folks to start subscribing to their newsletter.

"Want to know when we're announcing our next game? Find in our new newsletter this Friday! Sign up to get it here!"

That's the tweet. So... I guess you should start following Insomniac's newsletter in anticipation of their newest game being revealed. Maybe it'll be their first multiplatform title. Maybe it will be a new Ratchet & Clank. Stay tuned to find out.

Naughty Dog Responds to Multi-Platform Madness

Recently a post on the internet made its way to the top slot on news aggregates stating that Naughty Dog (creators of the Uncharted franchise) was looking for game developers with Xbox 360 experience. This led way to the belief that perhaps the company would go multi-platform and sparked major debates numbering in the hundreds of responses. Turns out, as easily predicted by rational logic, Naughty Dog has no intentions of going multi-platform and made a quick remark recently reflecting so. Take a look at that comment:

"'Where is this rumor? Haven’t seen it. We’re also wholly-owned by SCEA since 2001, working on SCE consoles throughout our history'."

Kαλα και μονο που συζητηθηκε απο καποιους ειναι πολυ.Η ND δεν ειναι insomniac.Ειναι η sony ουσιαστικα(ανηκει στην sony).
Οταν βγηκαν οι φημες για multiplatform τιτλο απο την insomniac,οι αντιδρασεις ηταν πολυ διαφορετικες και οι περισσοτεροι δεν απεκλειαν μια τετοια εξελιξη.Στην περιπτωση της ND ομως,ειναι σαν να λεμε οτι υπαρχουν φημες πως η sony θα βγαλει παιχνιδι για το 360.

Όσοι περιμένετε γενικά νεά για το Versus 13 ατυχήσατε. Σύμφωνα με τα τελευταία posts του Nomura στο Τwitter (ο ίδιος δεν έχει προσωπικό account παρ' όλα αυτά, αλλά γράφει μέσω άλλων), τόσο το Versus 13 για PS3, αλλά και το Agito 13 για PSP θα καθυστερήσουν ακόμα λίγο γιατί πρέπει να δωθεί προτεραιότητα σε άλλα παιχνίδια που θα κυκλοφορήσουν νωρίτερα (όπως το sequel του Parasite Eve για το PSP), αλλά και σε παιχνίδια που δεν έχουν ανακοινωθεί ακόμα, αλλά έχουν αναπτυχθεί κανονικά και έχουν τελειώσει και με το voice acting. (KINGDOM HEARTS?! )

Περισσότερα θα μάθουμε στο Tokyo Game Show απ' ό,τι φαίνεται.

Επίσης το FF Versus 13 παρ' όλα τα πολλά προβλήματα που είχε στα πρώτα στάδια ανάπτυξης βρίσκεται σε φάση voice casting, οπότε εντάξει... Τον προλαβαίνουμε αυτόν τον κύκλο κονσολών μάλλον...

Tetsuya Nomura has tweeted an update on Final Fantasy Versus XIII, reassuring us that it’s still on track. The game’s director spoke of the difficulties in designing the game and explained that the silence surrounding Final Fantasy Versus XIII was due to the game being behind other titles (such as The 3rd birthday) “in order. Development on the game is still going strong and voice casting has just begun.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII’s “birth” hasn’t exactly been straightforward, the development team found that many of their tried and tested methods, used on other Final Fantasy games, weren’t applicable this time round. Nomura does stress that these were only issues during the game’s early development stages:

“Versus has had many difficulties, and past method of production have been completely inapplicable, but these are the difficulties of birth, so we are working hard. We have a lot to announce, but because we’re going in order, I can’t say too much yet.”

Square Enix prioritise the promotion of their games in the order of their release, that’s the reason for the silence surrounding Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Square Enix currently have a busy schedule with two PSP titles in development: The 3rd Birthday – a long awaited third entry for the Parasite Eve series – and another Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy Agito XIII. Both games appear to be ahead of Final Fantasy Versus XIII in order of release.

Kingdom of Hearts: Birth by Sleep is also due to be released next month across the rest of the world, it’s been out in in Japan since January this year. Nomura even has some unannounced titles on the go, he’s clearly a very busy man:

“There are a number of unannounced titles. These will come before Agito and Versus. Some have finished voice recording. Announcements will take place in Japan.”

David Kaye, the voice of Clank, has revealed that he is currently working on new Ratchet & Clank content.

In an exclusive interview with ShogunGames, Kaye broke the news:

“Don’t know about Nate. There are some interesting developments always coming from Insomniac games. We’re working on more R & C currently.”

PSN Go Brings PlayStation Network To iPhone; Now Avaialble Via AppStore

Developers have recently released PSN Go – an app designed to let you browse and control your PlayStation Network account (the same account that you set up when you first get a PS3 connected to the Internet). It’s unofficial, which means it isn’t made by Sony and instead made by a third party, but you can log in with a PSN name and password to browse through friends lists, gamer profile, trophy lists, and other PSN information.
