Finally! PS3 prices drop...in India
This Christmas, Sony Computer Entertainment announced that the 40GB PS3 price in India dropped from INR 24,990 (about US$ 520) to INR 22,990 (about US$ 480) plus a game to sweeten the deal. Yikes, they have it bad over there - for that kind of money, you can get a 160GB PS3 bundle! It's a spanking good thing that they're getting a price drop over there.

GCO had a chance to speak to an EA spokesperson and according to them, "Black box studios is not closed. It is going to relocate to [EA's] Burnaby facility in June 2009."

No PS3 Price Cuts Before Summer 09
No, we are not going to go down in price on PS3 – neither are we going to go down in price on PS3 in spring time either. Absolutely not, whatever you might have heard to the contrary. Our strategy is very much value added.
That doesnt mean we are going to add pieces of software – we might add original ideas to the machine. What we want is to make the machine value for money.
PS3 trophy errors hit the PS3, fix expected
According to reports, an error related to Trophy synchronisation on the PS3 is breaking a number of game titles. The error occurs when users change their PSN ID or password and when this happens, the trophy data becomes corrupt. Title affected by this include WipEout HD, Burnout Paradise, LittlebigPlanet and Pain.

The error, which seems to have first struck after the release of firmware version 2.50, appears to occur when users change their PSN ID or password.
After doing so, their Trophy data becomes corrupt and running a select number of games brings up an error that notifies the user of a failure to sync Trophy data. In the worst of cases, the game forces the player to quit and "try again", only to repeat the same message.
Known affected titles include WipEout HD, Burnout Paradise, LittleBigPlanet and Pain.
The first complaints hit forums back in October and, having gone unfixed for so long, it has left many doubtful that a patch will come before the Christmas break, when those PS3s should be getting a considerable hammering.
A Sony community man posting under the alias 'MusterBuster' only just this week said: "A fix is on the way, but I don't have an ETA yet"

At launch, Sony spent over $800 building each $599 launch unit. Now, thanks to a reduction in total parts and an increase in technology, each $399 PS3 costs Sony $448.73.
According to iSuppli's analysis, Sony should reach the break-even point on each PS3 sold "sometime in 2009," and start making money off of each console sold after that--unless they start the long-anticipated and rumored price cut once they break even on each PS3 sold.
