PS3 Not Compatible with New BDXL Spec 128GB Blu-ray Discs?
This weekend Engadget (linked above) reported that unlike going 3D this summer, Sony's PS3 entertainment system won't be able to read the upcoming 128GB BDXL Spec Blu-ray discs with just a PlayStation 3 Firmware update... a new player will likely be required.
To quote: "The Blu-ray Disc Association's rolling out a new BDXL format capable of holding up to 128GB (write-once) or 100GB (rewriteable).
Before you get too excited, you should know that you'll need a new player to access these - even a firmware update won't save the PS3 this time - since they go up to three or four layers deep and will likely need a more powerful laser."

Sony Announces 10 New Greatest Hits Games
For those of you that may have jumped on the PS3 bandwagon a little late and missed out on a number of the system's earlier high quality games, Sony has just the gift for you. The company has officially added a total of ten new titles to their list of Greatest Hits.
The following titles are now officially part of Sony's Greatest Hits library:
1. inFAMOUS
2. God of War Collection
3. Killzone 2
4. LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year
5. Resistance 2
6. Dead Space
7. Fight Night Round 4
8. Resident Evil 5
9. Soulcalibur IV
10. UFC 2009 Undisputed
Sony fans should be pleased, as this is quite a solid lineup of games. At 30 bucks a pop, there is really no reason for any PlayStation 3 owner to miss out on amazing exclusives like inFAMOUS and LittleBigPlanet.

Duke Nukem creator: PS3 is a 'mighty fine system'
The global economic crisis has caused many videogame developers to close up shop - Factor 5, Free Radical, and Pandemic are just a few of the bigger one. Perhaps one of the most tragic shutdowns came last May, though, when the prolific PC developer 3D Realms shut down, perhaps known best as the creators of the Duke Nukem franchise.
Though we still have no idea what's going to happen with Duke Nukem Forever, Duke's creator George Broussard has recently come out and started answering some questions from the fans. So of course, what was one of the first questions? 360 or PS3.
"I prefer the 360 due to Xbox Live and the unified achievement system," Broussard replied. "I think it's a better end user experience."
He was quick to point out, though, that he is a fan of the PS3 as well, saying "I play the big exclusives on PS3 and it's a mighty find(sic) system."
Broussard is currently fighting a legal battle against Take Two Interactive in regards to Duke Nukem Forever. Last December, Apogee CEO Scott Miller said they were still planning on finishing the title by enlisting the help of external development studios.
