Friendly reminder, for all you latecomers: back in late January, a new user by the name of ntkrnl
essentially leaked Microsoft's plans for the following 48 months. So, let's check what checked out, shall we?
CONFIRMED:
Titanfall special edition Xbox One existed. While canned for general release,
prototypes were given to Respawn staff.
The plot of Sunset Overdrive, along with it releasing in Fall 2014.
Halo 5 releasing in 2015.
Titanfall's DLC timing
(more or less)
$399 Xbox One in 2014.
Forza Horizon 2, fall 2014.
OFF THE MARK
Quantum Break being Holiday 2014 (announced for early 2015, but we can probably file it under "plans change")
Tier 2 and Tier 3 release dates (everything's moved to September)
Disc-drive-less Xbox One (we're getting a Kinect-less Xbone instead)
TO BE CONFIRMED
White Xbox One to launch alongside Sunset Overdrive
Halo 2 Anniversary (for Fall 2014, developed by Saber & Certain Affinity)/War Collection (endgaget reported on the latter)
Halo 5 Beta
Crackdown 3 (2016)
Cloudigine developed game
Fable Legends release period (Summer 2015)
Platinum Games game (2016. Delusi's prediction: this is GameSpot's "big third party exclusive" for this year's E3, and I'm going to guess that it's Vanquish 2)
And finally, a game will have a $15 map pack. :v
Ultimately, I'd say that ntkrnl was entirely correct as of January 2014, and that plans have changed since then. That said, the only thing on this list that would probably be canned as a result would be the white console (due to the main reason I'd imagine Microsoft scrapping the Titanfall SE, too many consoles lying on shop shelves for stores to order a new SKU, appears to still apply). Everything else I'd be expecting at E3 this year.
