So im at a GameStop waiting for some takeout food to be ready and i start chatting with the two sales reps and another customer about next gen and such.
And unsurprisingly the GameStop employees are very keen on PS4 and not so keen on Xbone.
Talking about how PS4 has twice the shipments since the announcement.
Illustrating the need for used game sales by pointing at a humongous pile (like really big, you would not believe) of used games that had just been traded in and saying that all of them were traded that day so people could get The Last of Us.
But i havent gotten to the good part yet.
Another customer walks in (easily mid twenties and with his mother, thanks for fighting the stereo typekidding kidding) with the purpose of pre ordering an Xbone. The female GameStop employee exasperatingly says "what?!" And the other employee says "don't give him a hard time" and starts doing the business.
But oddly enough the male employee starts debating his purchase with him while he is ringing it up, In front of what was now 7 or 8 people.
The customer is saying that he has been an Xbox gamer for 13 years or something like that so "im sticking with them", and that PS3 never had cross game chat. So therefore is buying an Xbone.
The GameStop employee starts basically saying hes an idiot for showing loyalty to a multi million dollar company, and that PS4 is going to have cross game chat. Then the female employee interjects with "good luck playing your games if your Internet goes out, you cant play your games without internet" which was admittedly somewhat of a misnomer but whatever.
Anyway the customers mom said "whats that?" to her son and the son just sorta shrugged it off saying "i guess its this new thing they are doing, you gotta have Internet to play"
Meanwhile im just standing there with the other customer who had come in earlier, and im trying to conceal my face because i was laughing so hard at this interchange. I hope ive painted the picture well enough it was simply amazing.

But on a discussion level i was pretty surprised that the customer really didnt have any idea what the Xbones new policies were and didnt care. Additionally didnt even look at anything PS4 related, had no idea what it had to its name, likely didnt even know it was 100$ cheaper and more powerful cause loyalty amiright.
Second off, im pretty surprised to some extent that the GameStop employees were arguing against his purchase. Although i wasnt that surprised because i have had people at GameStops tell me that they disliked a game i was currently buying. But never a console.
