Prince of Persia Classic will be available on the PlayStation Network this Thursday. The downloadable game is a revamp of the original Prince of Persia 2D game, rendered in a new 3D engine. Not only are the character designs and animations new, there are newly added traps, puzzles and enemies. For those that enjoyed Bionic Commando Rearmed, this might be worth a look.

First E3 2009 details emerge
According to Internet reports, next year’s E3 Media and Business Summit is scheduled to take place in early June 2009, with the ESA allegedly hoping to nab an estimated 40,000 attendees for the popular event.
News originates from U.S. TV show X-Play, which yesterday claimed that "the old E3 is making a comeback", reporting that the show will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Centre and will run through June 2-4.
X-Play’s Blair Herter commented, "A broader range of industry guests will be invited,” hinting that it may be possible for consumers to attend the show once again.
"While the event won't technically be open to the public with ticket sales, this does mean that more people will have a shot at attending, and yes, I'm talking about you,” added Herter.
A further report from Newsweek’s Level Up blog suggests that the event will run through to Saturday, June 6, with the last few days of the show open to the general public.
Formally known as the Electronic Entertainment Expo, E3 made its debut in 1995, and for 11 years was home to some of the industries biggest announcements before it was ultimately downsized in 2007 due to overwhelming demand from exhibitors.

EA looking at bringing MMOs to consoles

Warhammer Online and the recently announced Star Wars: The Old republic both under consideration.
Speaking to Eurogamer following the unveiling of BioWare's new PC MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic, EA executive Frank Gibeau confirmed that the publisher is looking at bringing its MMO titles to consoles.
"We're definitely looking at the opportunity to bring the MMO experience to console, without question," said Gibeau. "We've got this product, and we've got Warhammer at play... We're trying to look at the primary research required to understand how would you deploy it, what the client size looks like, how big is the back-end, what the play experience looks like... Once we've got some of those questions answered, we'll be able to decide which is the right play to go after."
"They're both under consideration," he added. "We're not really in a place to commit or announce anything specific with regards to those."
Despite the genre's growing popularity on PC, the MMO is still very much in its infancy on home consoles, with very few titles currently available. However, this looks set to change with a host of MMOs on the way: Champions Online, DC Universe Online and The Agency amongst others.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is currently without a confirmed release date.

Global approval process in the works for PSN
Posted Oct 24th 2008 12:05PM by Andrew Yoon

Hate the long delays between game releases in America, Europe and Japan? Well, that may be over, according to a report by GameDaily. A change in the game approval process means developers can submit to just one territory, and gain approval in all. "Previously games had to be submitted separately through Sony Europe, Japan, and America. Now, the game idea is sent through a single website for approval."
Sony is hoping this will encourage even more developers to release their games on PlayStation Network. They'll continue to tout the benefits of the PSN: it's free, doesn't require a publishing partner, and can be distributed around the world simultaneously. Will developers be able to refuse this kind of offer?
