During one of Ubisoft’s presentations over at Gamescom, the publisher has revealed that the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Unity will come packed with micro-transactions.
Details were sparse, but
according to Total Xbox, said feature will not “compromise” Unity, as the only thing players will be allowed to purchase with real-life money are items for their gear.
According to senior producer Vincent Pontbriand, the micro-transaction business
has only been allowed because it makes sense in the respective game. Otherwise, Ubisoft wouldn’t “make any compromises.”
“
If we think it fits the gameplay, or the brand itself, the core values, we’re willing to take those risks. If not, then not. We’re not going to make any compromises,” said Pontbriand.
