SEGA Rally Revo First Details (http://psp.ign.com/articles/813/813171p1.html)
First bits of information and screens from the PSP release.

August 15, 2007 - As SEGA revs its engines and prepares the release of SEGA Rally Revo for consoles, it doesn't intend to leave the PSP in the dust. Scheduled for release this fall to coincide with the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC releases, the PSP version promises to bring all of the dirt-tossing gameplay to Sony's handheld.

Details on the game are rather scarce, though we do know that it'll feature 34 different cars and 16 tracks that span six different environments. Multiplayer will be available for play over the Internet via Infrastructure support for up to four players, while Ad-Hoc play will take care of local games. And for friends who don't have the game, Game Sharing will allow two players to compete.

While SEGA Driving Studio is handling the PS3, 360 and PC versions of SEGA Rally Revo, the PSP game is being developed by Bugbear Entertainment, the folks who've brought us the fun on wheels franchise that we like to call FlatOut. The studio has done a great job at pushing the PlayStation 2 to its limits in the past with an entirely physics-based racing world, so we can't wait to see how it's pushing the PSP this time out.

We'll have to wait until we get our hands on the game for further details, but its release is right around the corner. Hopefully Bugbear and SEGA can put a set of high-performance tires on the system and wind up with a podium finish.

New Sega Rally Revo details (http://www.pspfanboy.com/2007/08/16/new-sega-rally-revo-details/)

http://www.blogsmithmedia.com/www.pspfanboy.com/media/2007/08/segarallyrevo.jpg

When SEGA Rally Revo was first announced, we weren't given a whole lot of info. Luckily for SEGA Rally fans, IGN has gotten more details on the off-road racer. Here is what PSP gamers can expect when they pop the UMD into their PlayStation Portable:

34 different cars
16 tracks
6 different environments
Ad-Hoc and Infrastructure multiplayer
Game Sharing

This handheld edition of SEGA Rally Revo isn't a port, but rather was uniquely made for the PSP by Bugbear Entertainment (Flatout). It certainly breeds confidence in the title, when you know the developer has had experience with off-road racing before.

Sega Rally gets glowing previews on PSP (http://www.pspfanboy.com/2007/08/29/sega-rally-gets-glowing-previews-on-psp/)

Crush withstanding, Sega's efforts on PSP have been less than stellar. Games like Full Auto 2 simply failed to realize the potential of the PSP platform. Sega continued to release games that felt unfinished, in spite of their claim to "love" the PSP. Well, it looks as though that's going to change. European media outlets have recently tried Sega's latest, and initial impressions of the upcoming Sega Rally have been surprisingly positive. In fact, they're downright glowing.

Eurogamer is raving that "they have absolutely nailed the handling. Triumphantly. Sublimely." Certainly, those are powerful words to choose. Pocket Gamer noted that "it's a sumptuous affair, with vibrant and impressively detailed settings flying past at convincing speed." They also added "it's a lot of fun – we found ourselves playing the game for enjoyment rather than just duty, which certainly isn't a common occurrence." We can certainly understand that feeling!

Finally, Games Radar added that "the frame-rate is smooth and it's very fast - like having your own pocket coin-op. Having played the big version, we were expecting to be disappointed by the PSP's cut-down visuals, but we're not. It's a corker." What's a corker? Our uninformed American minds may not understand that, but we can certainly see that these media outlets have all thoroughly enjoyed Sega Rally. We weren't expecting that at all! Hopefully, we'll be able to try the game for ourselves, and confirm their ravish previews.
