The game takes place in Las Vegas where you resume the role of Vinny, a man who has been just released from Rickers Prision. You seek to start a new life of happiness and prosperity when you find out your younger brother Tony has got himself into serious trouble.

2 Days To Vegas is a 3rd person action-adventure game that thrives on intensity and non stop action. Steel Monkey garuantees the game to be full of wreckless car chases, gang shootouts and unexpected story twists, to keep you on the edge throughout the game.


The game will take place in many various major cities throughout the USA and be held to a 48 hour time period. This could be something like a game long countdown that will have you racing the clock constantly to accomplish your missions.

Starting on Monday, PSU will be releasing new details and media for 2 Days 2 Vegas, a highly anticipated title for the PlayStation 3 and PC. Combining large full scale cities, realistic AI simulation, and life-like visuals, 2 Days 2 Vegas should be a top competitor for the best sandbox action/adventure.

Before we begin our feature on Monday, we just wanted to remind you guys of some details we have covered over the last couple years.

The storyline follows a man named Vinny, who just after being released from Rikers Prison finds out that his younger brother Tony is in some trouble in Las Vegas. Over the course of 48 hours, players will trek across America hitting major cities on their way to the City of Sin. So far the only confirmed locations include New York and Las Vegas.

When we talked with Edwin Loo, the games producer, last year at GDC 07, we were told that every city in the game will be modeled after its true likeness. He stated that every few months they have to travel down to Las Vegas to find out which buildings have been razed and what buildings are new so that when 2 Days 2 Vegas releases, everything will be close to the real life location.

Other details from our interview included:

- 2D2V will have a "Garbage Generator" to simulate the clutter on the city streets.

- "Blu-ray solves a lot of their problems". Since 2D2V is such an epic title, he said that to fit the game onto a simple DVD, they would either need to cut out chunks of the game or release the title on multiple discs.

- 2D2V thrives on intensity and non stop action. Steel Monkey guarantees the game to be full of wreckless car chases, gang shootouts and unexpected story twists, to keep you on the edge throughout the game.

- The game looks to be just as immersive (if not more) than Grand Theft Auto IV. You can check out our visual comparison of the 2D2V and GTAIV here.

- The title is expected to release Christmas 2008

Περιμένω τα νέα πως και πως... Πραγματικά περιμένω κάτι καλό απ' αυτόν τον τίτλο γιατί το GTA4 με απογοήτευσε όσον αφορά τα γραφικά που περίμενα και που είδαμε(θα δούμε) τελικά! Για να δούμε τι μπορεί να κάνει η Sony τουλάχιστον σε αυτόν τον τομέα γιατί από gameplay δε ξέρω τι θα είναι το παιχνίδι!

Kαλά τα trailers μπορούν να με δείξουν και μένα να πετάω.Από ψεύτικα γραφικά έχουμε πήξει πια.Όταν αυτά που δείχνουν είναι ικανοί να μας τα βγάλουν ingame και όχι σε cinematic videakia τότε ίσως έχει πάρει πρωτάθλημα και ο άρης :giggle:(μάλλον πιο πιθανό είναι να γίνει αυτό παρά το άλλο)
Πρώτο το ps3 δεν μπορεί να βγάλει τέτοια γραφικά παρά μόνο σε 720p και πάλι με ΑΑ μηδενικό.
Δεύτερον σε pc (από όπου και είχαν πρωτοβγεί οι φωτός εδώ και ενάμισυ χρόνο),από γενιά 9800 gtx και πάνω και αν........εκτός αν και με τα τωρινά δεδομένα μπορούν να το βγάλουν αλλά δεν το κάνουν.
Και τρίτον η εταιρεία που το βγάζει δεν είναι η scea οπότε άντε γεια στα όνειρα

Και από ότι είδα το trailer έχει απλά εικόνες μόνο............Ίσως το παιχνίδι να τρέχει με την ταχύτητα που αλλάζουν οι εικόνες στο trailer:fryingpan:

However for further details we contacted the developers at Steel Monkey, and got an inside scoop on what gamers can expect from the title now and when it releases later this year.

First off, let us just get this out of the way. 2 Days 2 Vegas will appear on the PC and Xbox 360 this Christmas, and then be followed by the PlayStation 3 release soon after in 2009. The reason for moving the PS3 development back is simple.

"Resources," said Tim Dvoskin, managing director at SteelMonkey. "We are too small to tackle everything at once."

However our thoughts are perhaps with more time, the developers will use the PS3 to their advantage, utilizing the Blu-ray format to include more content in the game. It seemed to us that when we spoke with Edwin Loo, the games producer, at GDC 2007, Steel Monkey was excited about the extra storage Blu-ray provided and that they would actually use it.

Now let's talk about the new screenshots. All the images we present today and the videos we show off tomorrow are from a very early build of the game. What you will see is basically the game at 50% completion. To further describe it, such things as ambient filters (lighting, shading, etc) and anti aliasing (smoothing of edges on objects and models) has not been added. Although rest assured, Tim confirmed with us that the game will have both when shown later this year.

Τωρα ή εγω εχω γινει αυστηρος με τα γραφικα ή τα γραφικα του παιχνιδιου ειναι λιγο χαλια... Κατι που προσεξα ειναι το εξης... Στο επισημο site της εταιρειας, λεει οτι το παιχνιδι θα βγει μονο για PC (Platforms: PC )
Το αλλο που βλεπω ειναι οτι μαλλον δεν εχουν βρει ακομα publisher..

PSU Exclusive: 2 Days 2 Vegas Tech Demo


Now that you have had a look at 2 Days 2 Vegas in still shots, here is the first look at the technology involved behind the title in motion. This is still a very early look, basically alpha or pre-alpha footage.

As you will see in the tech demo, 2 Days 2 Vegas will include such technical features as:

- Dynamic shadows
- Diffuse textures
- Normal mapping
- Gloss
- Fresnel Reflection
- Refraction
- Water Effects (turbid water, sun glint, dynamic light)
- Ambient Occlusion
- Point Light
- Projective spotlight
- Mo-cap and animation blending


Once again, there are still some key visual technology not yet implemented. What you are looking at is about 50% of the final quality. Enjoy!

Από ότι είδα στο tech δεν έχουν και πολύ σχέση αυτά που βλέπουμε στις εικόνες με αυτά στο tech demo.Nαι μεν καλά αλλά μακριά από την ποιότητα των εικόνων

Ακόμα μια απόδειξη ότι δεν πλησιάζει καν στις φωτογραφίες.Πάντως είναι ένα βήμα παραπάνω σαν γραφικά από το gta (το προηγούμενο),το αμάξι δεν θα έλεγα ότι είναι πολλά πολύγωνα,σαν να παρατήρησα οριακό framerate ειδικά στην μετακίνηση στην πόλη,μου άρεσαν όμως η πολυχρωμία και φυσικά εκεί που πήγε ο τύπος:angry:.Δεν ξέρω σαν gameplay αλλά βαδίζει σε σωστά σημεία σύμφωνα με το trailer......

Δεν ξερω πειτε με παραξενο αλλα η κινηση του αυτοκινητου μου φαινεται αθλια. Βεβαια, θα μου πει καποιος, δεν ειναι και driving simulator. Επισης, τα γραφικα σε σχεση με τα απιστευτα που εδειχναν στις εικονες δεν εχουν σχεδον καμμια σχεση..
