The gods must really be angry at Spartans! Why show us a gameplay video and say God of War: Chains of Olympus will be coming out this year only to have it delayed? Yes it's true, God of War: Chains of Olympus for the PSP has been pushed back to 2008.

It wasn't an easy task bringing God of War to the handhelds. A brand new engine (Ready at Dawn Engine 2.0) had to be created, and the controls had to be adapted to a whole new system. Our time with the game at E3 proved that Ready at Dawn has been successful in recreating the God of War experience on the handheld ... but how did they do it? This new video documentary provided by Sony attempts to go behind the scenes of the game, and showcases tons of new gameplay footage.

A lot of random snippets of information was released in today's chat with the God of War: Chains of Olympus development team. In the chat held for fans, Ready at Dawn revealed a few facts about the game:
The game is still on track for a Winter release.
Set ten years before the original God of War, Kratos will meet many characters from the previous PS2 God of War titles through his adventure. After the murder of his family, Kratos renounces his service to Ares, and he decides to serve the other gods of Olympus to try and rid him of his nightmares. Voice actors from previous games will return in Chains of Olympus. Linda Hunt will return to narrate the game.
"You will have multiple weapons with a new twist on how they integrate into the storyline."
The game has been in development since Daxter shipped.
The game will have counter attacks -- but whether or not it will be similar to God of War II's Golden Fleece was not revealed.
Magic will be used against you by enemies before you can use it yourself.
"One of the areas we are focusing on in this story is Kratos' human side, I'll let you imagine what that entails."
There will be multiple difficulty settings.
If there's a need for various control options, they will be provided.
"The game will run at an uncompromised 30fps."
The same musicians are handling the music for Chains of Olympus.
There are both in-game and CG cutscenes in the game.
Obviously, the game will be rated M for Mature.
"You will play and experience an event that will change the course of the GoW mythology, that will take you far beyond where Kratos has ever gone before."
"When [Kratos] gets in a fight with Athena well, let's say comedy ensues."
Players will need to earn all their cheats.

Πάρα πολύ ωραίο παιχνίδι. Μετάνιωσα λίγο που πήρα PSP μια και έχω Playstation 3 τώρα αλλά αυτό το παιχνίδι δεν θα το χάσω. Φαίνεται τέλειο!!

What if you didn't get selected to receive the upcoming God of War UMD demo disc? Don't worry! YourPSP will be hosting a downloadable demo, at least according to German Dutch OPM (as discovered by PSP Demo Center's Benjami). Whether or not it will have the same content as the upcoming disc demo is unclear, but this should come as good news for those that weren't eligible for the limited edition demo. And as always, once the demo goes live, PSP Fanboy will also be hosting it for you.

Gamespot is reporting that God of War: Chains of Olympus will hit store shelves on March 4th, 2008. No price or ESRB rating has been announced yet. This prequel to the original God of War seems like a far away release, but thankfully, the UMD demo coming this month with its new unseen level will help pass the time. And if you're not getting that demo in the mail, one (which may or may not be the same as the UMD) will be available on the Internet, and of course, hosted in our demo section as well.

That took long enough.
The God of War: Chains of Olympus Special Edition: Battle of Attica demo disc (also lovingly abbreviated as GOW: COO –SE:BoADD) is going to make its September release date, with only a few days to spare. This demo is quite possibly the most anticipated demo in recent memory, with forums constantly abuzz about its ever-shifting release date. Considering the limited number of copies being printed, it might actually end up being a collector's item (let's see how much it goes for on eBay).
We're eagerly awaiting our demo discs, just like you, and we can't wait to share our impressions of Kratos' upcoming PSP adventure with you.

Φοβερό demo για ένα φοβερό παιχνίδι....!! Άραγε θα αργήσει πολύ η εμφάνιση του στο PS3? Θέλω τόσο πολύ να δω πως θα δείχνει ένα god of war στο ps3! Ελπίζω να μου κάνουν τη χάρη :p

God of War: Chains of Olympus is a stellar achievement on the PSP. It plays perfectly into the franchise's storyline and offers up the same level of intense action as its console counterparts. It's also the best looking title on the system, without question. ένα demo που έπαιξα έπαθα σοκ! απίστευτα πράγματα κάνουν εκεί στην sony..
Α ρε Κratos ποροτικός όπου και να βγει...το παιχνίδι τα σπάει...amazing!!
Oυφ πριν λίγο σταμάτησα να παίζω και ξεκίνησα από τις 9 το βράδυ (με ενδιάμεσες παύσεις εννοείται)!!
Τι να πω, εξαιρετικό όπως και τα άλλα δύο GoW στο PS2. Τα παιδιά στην Ready at Dawn έκαναν τόσο προσεγμένη δουλειά που ξεχνάς ότι παίζεις PSP πραγματικά. Τα γραφικά είναι κορυφαία σχεδόν ίδια με αυτά του GoW στο PS2 και ο χειρισμός αν και θέλει λίγη ώρα να τον συνηθίσεις μετά λειτουργεί πάρα πολύ καλά και δεν δημιουργεί προβλήματα στον έλεγχο του Kratos και στα combos που εκτελεί.
Μοναδικό παράπονο για μένα είναι η μικρή διάρκεια του, πάνω κάτω 6 ώρες για τους έμπειρους παίκτες.
ΜUST-BUY (κι όχι μόνο download:mad:)
Oυφ πριν λίγο σταμάτησα να παίζω και ξεκίνησα από τις 9 το βράδυ (με ενδιάμεσες παύσεις εννοείται)!!
Τι να πω, εξαιρετικό όπως και τα άλλα δύο GoW στο PS2. Τα παιδιά στην Ready at Dawn έκαναν τόσο προσεγμένη δουλειά που ξεχνάς ότι παίζεις PSP πραγματικά. Τα γραφικά είναι κορυφαία σχεδόν ίδια με αυτά του GoW στο PS2 και ο χειρισμός αν και θέλει λίγη ώρα να τον συνηθίσεις μετά λειτουργεί πάρα πολύ καλά και δεν δημιουργεί προβλήματα στον έλεγχο του Kratos και στα combos που εκτελεί.
Μοναδικό παράπονο για μένα είναι η μικρή διάρκεια του, πάνω κάτω 6 ώρες για τους έμπειρους παίκτες.

To παιχνίδι απλά τα σπάει... Απλά τα σπάει!!! Απίθανο ότι παίζεις σε psp! Στο normal είναι αρκετά εύκολο για όσους έχουν ξαναπαίξει βάλτε το στο hard...
Nαι, το τερμάτισα στο Spartan (Hard) σε 8 ώρες περίπου. Μερικά σημεία είναι πολύ δύσκολα πραγματικά (η τελική boss είναι ένα από αυτά).

παινχιδάραααα!!! από που να αρχίσω και που να τελειώσω..
τα βίντεο? το story? τα γραφικά? must buy game!
Εγω το εβαλα κατευθειαν στο hard.ΠΟΛΥ ΠΟΛΥ ΚΑΛΟ παιδια.Ειχα παιξει το ντεμο , αλλα το φουλ παιχνιδι ειναι απλα κορυφη!
Δεν καταλαβαινεις οτι παιζεις handheld game...η ποιοτητα ειναι κορυφαια , και δεν μιλαω μονο για γραφικα , αλλα για ολη την παρουσιαση και την ατμοσφαιρα.Το παιχνιδι δειχνει εξισου επικο (και στο στορυ) με τις εκδοσεις του PS2 , για να μην πω καλυτερο σε αρκετες φασεις.
Εννοειται οτι με το που θα βγει θα το παρω αυθεντικο για συλλεκτικους λογους.
Επισης οσοι το παιζετε , σας συνιστω να βαλετε ακουστικα...ειναι "αλλη" φαση πιστεψτε με... :D
God of War: Chains of Olympus Graphic Comparisons
God of War: Chains of Olympus looks fantastic. Normally we'd toss in a "for a portable game" qualifier, but we really don't need to in this case. Chains of Olympus looks better than most PSP games, and easily hangs in the looks department with the best PlayStation 2 games. The graphics are even more impressive because Ready at Dawn built the game specifically for the PSP. The original God of War and God of War II pushed the PlayStation 2 hard, and it would seem that most of the work was already done. However, the developers couldn't reuse much from the previous games. The vast majority of Chains of Olympus is totally new, and what looks familiar is actually built for the PSP and not ported from the PS2 games.Πρώτη σύγκριση:

ναι όντως τα σπάει! μόλις το τερμάτισα..τι να πω έχω μείνει άναυδος! το καλύτερο παιχνίδι μέχρι σήμερα για psp,αγοράστε το!

Είναι σαφές ότι, για μια ακόμη φορά, ο Kratos έρχεται κοντά μας με...άγριες διαθέσεις. Πραγματικά, είναι ευχής έργο το ότι η Ready At Dawn δεν υπέπεσε σε σφάλματα και συνέχισε να κρατά ψηλά το κύρος και την ποιότητα αυτού του τόσο πολύτιμου για τη Sony franchise. Δεν γνωρίζουμε αν το Chains of Olympus είναι «system seller» ή όχι -δεν ξέρουμε αν αυτό έχει σημασία άλλωστε. Αυτό που έχει σημασία είναι ότι η νέα περιπέτεια του Kratos, αν και σύντομη στη διάρκειά της, αποτελεί μια απαραίτητη προσθήκη στη βιβλιοθήκη κάθε κατόχου PSP. Μην το χάσετε.

God of War: Chains of Olympus Kit
I got my God of War: Chains of Olympus press kit today, and I want to share the excitment with everyone. We all know the game is awesome (expect a review soon), but this whole kit is a beauty!
I opened the box to find another box inside. A big, black box with the God of War logo on it. It's smooth and cool, kind of like the 2001 monolith or a shoebox from Sparta.
I opened the black box expecting to find the shoes of Kratos inside, instead a 3D drawing of Kratos and some bad guys poped up. I loved those 3D books when I was a kid, so this was a nice surprise. But what lied inside was even sweeter.
Sure, the game was there, and the usual press kit CD. But there was also Kratos himself, the God of War, looking at me. I'm not a big action figure fan, but this one made my day!
Kratos with the flaming blades of Athena is my new favorite toy. I'll reveal some amazing artwork very soon. Thank you Sony for some great products like the God of War franchise!

ΤΑ ΣΠΑΕΙ ΛΕΜΕ, είχα να παίξω τόσο ενδιαφέρον παιχνίδι στο PSP απο το monster hunter.
Λοιπόν παιδιά το παιχνίδι το τερμάτισα κι εγώ. Μου πήρε περίπου 5 ώρες στο νορμάλ συν κανά 2ωρο από τα χασίματα:P
Το παιχνιδάκι μπορεί να θεωρηθεί μικρό αλλά ΤΑ ΣΠΑΕΙ!!! Πραγματικά απίστευτη δουλειά στο PSP, φοβερα γραφικά και ήχος, πολύ καλό animation και κλασικό GoW gameplay με μια πρωτότυπη ιστορία που συνδέει λίγο και κάποια γεγονότα του 2. Βέβαια τα λίγα όπλα και οι λίγoι γρίφοι (ήταν ιδέα μου ή μόνο στο ναό του ήλιου είχε σοβαρούς γρίφους?) ξένισαν λίγο, αλλά ήταν μια καλή δόση από Κράτο μέχρι το 3!

Πολυ καλο παιχνιδι. Ισως το καλυτερο μεχρι τωρα στο PSP. Αλλα αυτο το GOD MODE δεν παλεθεται με τιποτα...Ειμαι στον τελευταιο αρχηγο και δεν μπορω ουτε να τον χτυπησω...
