The Ericsson F305 is a new phone from Sony that incorporates motion control technology. Apparently, you can play games like bowling or fishing with just a flick of the wrist. Whether, the new phone ends up being a big hit with the public remains to be seen. But, apparently Sony’s new strategy seems to be if you can’t beat them, copy them. Best of luck to you on that Sony.

Sony Ericsson has launched its latest handset, F305, essentially a gaming phone that allows users control gaming action with a swing or a swipe of the phone, similar to the Nintendo Wii.

This Wii-like phone, targeted firmly at a younger audience, features motion gaming enabling users to control games with the flick of a wrist or the swing of an arm, and see the results straightaway on the screen.
Using advanced motion sensor technology, the phone can, for example, follow your actions to imitate bowling or casting a fishing line.
Further, F305 allows you to enjoy horizontal game play and features dedicated gaming keys. It comes loaded with three motion games including Bowling, Bass fishing, and Jockey. The company claims there are even more games being developed specially for the phone by Gameloft.

To complement the gaming experience, Sony Ericsson is also offering the Power Pack CPP-100 for extended game play. Which essentially means that if the phone battery drains out after making use of the up to 8 hours of game play that the company claims; users can plug it into the phone to receive an instant battery power boost.

Games apart, F305 comes with a 2-inches 176 x 220 TFT screen, 2 mega pixels camera, stereo speakers, expandable memory, Bluetooth, and support for Quad-Band EDGE. It weighs around 97.5 grams and measures about 96 x 47 x 14.6 mm. It allows users to change its look with two style-up covers that come bundled.

The F305 with motion gaming will be available in Polar White and Mystic Black colors in select markets beginning the third quarter of this year. Pricing is not yet revealed.
