Γενικές πληροφορίες
Τι είναι τα mods?
Mod, short for modification is a term generally applied to a customised (or altered) computer game made by the general public. A mod can range from a total conversion with new gameplay, look and feel through to minor alterations which could include new models, weapons, maps etc. There are plenty of types and tons of styles, a mod can be anything the creators want it to be.Πως να κάνετε install τα mods...
Here is how to install UT3 mods on your PlayStation 3.
1. Unzip the file to the root directory of any memory card that is readable by your PlayStation 3. It is already in the proper directory structure but, just in case, the path and filename need to be: ps3savedatablus30086-modimportuserdata.jam
2. Boot up Unreal Tournament 3 on your PS3
3. Go to the "Community" menu
4. Choose "My Content"
5. Press the [SQUARE] button to "Import Mod"
6. Follow the directions on the screen to import it from your memory card.
Once imported you'll be able to see the map in your list of Deathmatch maps. You'll be able to host the map and join servers that are hosting the map. All UT3 mods install this same way. If this were a mutator it would show up in the mutator list. If it were a gametype it would show up in gametype lists, etc.YouTube - Installing maps/mods for UT3 on a PS3

Epic Games is proud to take the first bold step in a new era! Today we're releasing the very first user-created content for Unreal Tournament 3 on PlayStation 3.
We're starting with a user-created map called DM-Shrine created by Thomas Browett, who goes by the name Setheran on the official UT3 forums. Thomas is a 23 year old graphic designer from Nottingham, England. He's been playing Unreal since the very first Unreal Tournament and he's says he's enjoyed every game in the series. He made a few maps for the original Unreal Tournament but hadn't done anything since this one. He finds the third generation editor to be very friendly and feature rich.
DM-Shrine is is a great little map that's perfect those close-quarters, 2-6 player, matches that keep your adrenaline pumping from beginning to end. A lot of our DM maps in UT3 are designed for larger player counts so this provides a great contrast and a chance to play in a more intimate setting. I've always loved these types of maps and I hope you folks do as well!
This is just the first little taste of modding on Unreal Tournament 3 for PS3.
Epic didn't make this map. Thomas did and he already released it for PC users of UT3. We didn't do any editing or changes to it. All we did was bring it into the editor and "cook" it into the proper format for the PlayStation 3 and tested it to make sure it ran properly and was good fun. We're waiting on some paperwork from Sony that will allow us to release an editor update so mod creators can do this cook process for themselves. We expect to have that very soon.
We're planning to release a few more user-created maps, and some mutators, tomorrow as well so keep an eye on this space. We've got some pretty cool things of our own in the works (for both PC and PS3 versions of UT3) but those are still in development so they're a little further down the road.

One of the primary advantages that Midway and Epic Games have thus far announced for the PlayStation 3 version of Unreal Tournament III over its Xbox 360 counterpart, aside from being released several months in advance, is support user-created game mods made through the PC version's map editor. However, as the game narrowly made it out the door and onto store shelves in time for the busy 2007 holiday shopping season, players were noticeably unable to get their homemade maps running on the PS3 edition of the game.
That situation will soon be rectified, according to Epic Games vice president Mark Rein. In a post to the game's official forums, Rein said that with the issues now squared away, the team simply has to iron out the actual update to the PC game's map editor.
"We're very close to releasing an update to the Unreal Engine 3 editor that comes with the PC version of UT3 that will allow UT3 mod-makers to cook their mods into the required PS3 format. We've been doing some internal testing, and we're hoping to expand to a wider group tomorrow or Friday. If all goes well, then we should see the update released next week, which is what I expect will happen. Ποιο γνωστό πρόβλημα? Πολύ λίγα παιχνίδια πλέον δεν έχουν global servers και με τον επαγγελματισμό που πιστεύω έχει η Epic δε θα κάνει καμιά βλακεία σε αυτό το θέμα!

Εχτες το βραδινο ματς ηταν ολα τα λεφτα!!! Πολυ γουσταρα μιλαμε! Ουτε lag ουτε τιποτα! Μια χαρα!
Πρεπει να παω να παρω και Dual Shock 3 να το ευχαριστιεμαι ποιο πολυ! :p

Απο χτες ειμαι και εγω κατοχος του παιχνιδιου(αν και δεν προλαβα να ασχοληθω ιδιαιτερα φαινετε εντυπωσιακο,στα κλασσικα επιπεδα της Εpic δηλαδη).Οποτε βαλτε με και μενα στην λιστα για κανα μεταμεσονυχτιο ματσακι.
Υ.Γ. Απιστευτο το ονλαιν μερος με δυνατοτητα να στελνεις μυνηματα στους αλλους ακομα και να προσθετεις φιλους χωρις να χρειαστει να βγεις απο το παιχνιδι.Ελπιζω να τα δει αυτα κανεις απο την Infinity και να τα αντιγραψει και στο COD4

Οκ...απλά όλα τα λεφτά.. η αλήθεια είναι οτι μόλις το έβαλα μπήκα κατευθείαν online για να παίξω και είναι πραγματικά γαμάτο! lag καθόλου μέχρι στιγμής! Σκληρά χριστούγεννα ακολούθουν κάτι πρέπει να γίνει με τη δουλεία :)

0 lag σε ότι παιχνίδι έχω παίξει! Το μόνο παιχνίδι με lag ήταν όταν ο WolfRathma έκανε host ένα game και καταλήξαμε καμιά 10αριά άτομα μέσα να παίζουμε! Ε ναι εκεί θέλει upload! Αλλά παιχνίδια γενικά με lag ποτέ δεν είδα εκτός απ το συγκεκριμένο! Ούτε το παραμικρό!
Για δώσε κάνα link (ίσως όχι εδώ αλλά στο thread του unreal στα παιχνίδια να ταν καλύτερα).

με γραμμη 768 απο τον @!$%!% ΟΤΕ σε μια δοκιμη που εκανα ειχε πολυ lag, πιστευω ομως οτι φταιει η γραμμη μου και οχι ο server η το παιχνιδι.

με 768 του ΟΤΕ με packet limiting που σκοτωνει ολες τις εφαρμογες που χρησιμοποιουν πολλα μικρα πακετα οπως για παραδειγμα το online gaming.

Paidia kaneis na mas pei an exei problimata to UT3 sto online giati thelo na to parw kai o logos einai na exei ena kalo online.
Εγώ παίδες με 768 μια χαρά έπαιζα, σε 3 ώρες παιχνίδι, μια φορά μόνο κόλλησε. Αυτό με τις σφαίρες νομίζω έχει να κάνει με τα physics και το gameplay μερικών όπλων και όχι με λαγκ. Ειδικά εκείνο το σνάιπερ είναι ηλίθιο.
Βάλτε "ModusAm" και "TransporterGR" .
Εγώ σε ορισμένα παιχνίδια με πολλούς παίχτες (και ειδικά σε Vehicle CTF) είχα τρομερό lag στην 1024 γραμμή. Αυτό με τα όπλα που πυροβολάς και μετά από 2secs βλέπεις τις σφαίρες είναι καθαρά θέμα lag.
Από τότε που έβαλα 24mbps μόνο στα παιχνίδια με μεγάλο ping έχω προβλήματα. Χθές έπαιζα για περίπου 5-6 ώρες και μόνο σε 2-3 παιχνίδια συνάντησα lag.
